vs. Maimi Redskinhawks

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

Stuff going on for this game:
http://bgsufalcons.com/news/2016/2/11/H ... 65145.aspx" target="_blank

1. Don't forget to bring a Teddy Bear for the Teddy Bear Toss: "The game will serve as the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss Night, benefiting The Children's Miracle Network through BGSU's Dance Marathon (on Twitter at @dm_bgsu). Bring a teddy bear, wrap it in a bag (bags will be provided at the BGSU Ice Arena) and toss it on the ice at the first intermission."

2. Chalk Talk with Ty Eigner in the Center Ice Lounge at 6:30. The previous two (Bergeron and Schutte) were very informative and well attended.

3. BGSU's own Duke Pieper will be in attendance for a book signing of "I'm Alive: Courage, Hope, And A Miracle."

4. The first 500 fans at the game will receive a Tim Horton's coffee cup for the Roll Up The Rim! promotion. Every cup wins either a free cup of coffee or a free doughnut at Tim Horton's (can not be redeemed at BGSU Ice Arena concession stands).

5. The Newlove Pro Shop is holding a special mini stick promotion with a qualifying purchase Friday night.

6. BEAT MIAMI

Also at the Ice Arena on Saturday and Sunday:

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Miami added that one to seal it.

Anyone playing besides Nell?

45-22 SOG in favor of MiAudi. It's amazing we only lost by three.

I hate leaving games feeling like the stripes played way too much into the outcome.

Last 2 periods were true ugliness.

My vote for GOAT of the night, however, goes to the idiot(s) directing traffic at the corner of Mercer and Merry/Stadium. There ought to be a special seat on the short bus to hell for those morons. The scorching letter I'm about to send to the administration may very well be my last contact with BGSU...yes, I'm that angry.

I want the guy who sang a few weeks ago to do it every game.

Not after the first intermission.
Chris stood on his head, score could have been 8-1.
Lazy passes, poor decisions, all-round weak effort.

We need to drop this series and see if we can get a home and home with American International....and for gosh sakes can someone give Bergeron another contract extension already....it's been about 8 or 9 months since his last one.

On the bright side our SOS is up to 39!

Perhaps we start with a video system? It's becoming very obvious who coaches to what the other team's tendencies are, and who coaches their system no matter the opponent. BG's play and decisions with the puck are becoming very predictable. Predictable means easy to defend and counter.

Wouldn't be a real thread without a shitty comment from Apollo. Because, you know, the coaching staff certainly didn't deserve the extension they got after pulling the program out of the basement. Jesus.

Everyone jumped all over me when I just stated the truth about our schedule at break...apparently I know more than some of you think I do. So far I've been right...our schedule and the WCHA stink. We're an average college hockey team...which is fine and certainly better than we've been.

The traffic situation was really frustrating. I understand it's going to be a big crowd. I turned onto Mercer at 6:40, got to the parking lot turn at 7:15 only to be directed over to the Field House. Falcon Club parking permit didn't do anything. Parked in Perry Field House lot and walked back. On the way into the arena I counted at least 20 empty parking spots in the Ice Arena lot. Got into the arena with 9 minutes left in the first period.

Dr. Mazey was a half hour late due to slow parking.
I expect change.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.
