Does BG play the first or second game on Friday? 4:07 or 7:37?

I doubt we beat Mankato, but single elimination helps the less talented team.

There isn't a team in this conference that BG cannot dominate. Maybe even all of college hockey. It's all a matter of whether they want to or not.

Let's hope the team that played on Saturday and Sunday is the one that shows up. They were fun to watch!

I hate that 4:07 start. We seem to always play at that time in tournaments whether it's the WCHA or some holiday tournament.

Apollo - We are 1-1-2 against Mankato this year. It seems that the teams are fairly even. If we play to our ability, we can have a great chance to win. BY the way, Mankato only got 2 points as well on their trip to Huntsville.

I just have to say you, elmer fudd, and hoops fan always bring such positive support to the coaches and players of our various teams. I wonder why you even bother to watch.

That's what you get when you are the middle seed and/or not playing the home team. If the finals had been in Minnesota this year we would probably have the later start against Mankato.

The positive side of playing the early game on Friday is having a little more time for rest and recuperation for Saturday's final.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

I'll give you that BG has the talent and ability to beat anyone in the country on a given night, but they have not shown they can consistently beat anyone in the top 30 of college hockey.
BG could certainly sweep the weekend, but I think Mankato has a lot more toughness and probably a little more offensive skill. Tech has significantly more skill and are one team that can score 4 or 5 in a game even against a good goalie. Both those teams are better, we'll just have to see how the weekend plays out.

I don't expect much on Friday, Mankato somewhat overlooked LSSU on Friday which led to a loss and then followed up with two dominating performances. I know comparisons don't mean much in sports, but BG had many struggles with LSSU this season. BG did play Mankato tough this year though, going 1-1-2.

Actually, the LSSU win came on Saturday, though the two wins were fairly lopsided.

I won't expect too much or ever count our team out with the way they have played this year, esp. in a win or go home tournament. Show up and play our game and we can hang with anyone, especially in our conference. Take a night off and it can turn into that game vs LSSU at the Joe in '96 or so...
