• More goalie news, as the amazing Jordan Sigalet keeps getting more, uh, amazinger. The Bowling Green senior made 50 saves in the Falcons’ 1-1 draw against Dartmouth in the first round of the Ledyard Bank Classic in Hanover, N.H. In 85 career appearances, Sigalet has made 40 or more saves on 18 occasions. That’s a little more than once in every five games he’s played.
I don't know if anyone has see this yet, but I thought this was pretty freakin' cool. GO JORDAN!!!

Great post! I have been impressed with INCH's coverage of BG Hockey. They really have a lot of respect for the Falcons and have pointed out many good things about BG in their columns. Thanks for posting it!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

I was wondering why Pooch did not pull Siggy in the 3rd periods this past weekend. After our team had a convincing lead I would have pulled him to save some of his energy. I think Siggy needs some time off every now and then, and I know next week will help with no games, but when the game is already in doubt I dont see a reason why Pooch cannot rest him. Just a thought

Jordan did not want to come out of the games. I think the coaches checked with him to see if he wanted to come out and he did not, which of course is not a surprise. If Jordan can play, there is no doubt that he will be on the ice for the whole game. He's a warrior, that's for sure! And I think if the coaches thought that he needed to come out of the game, they would have pulled him.

Don't give him an option to stay in the game. I love Jordan, but tell him he's sitting and get Horrell or Frazee in the game to get a little more game time action.. We are 0-3 in their collective starts, they could both use a little more live game action.
There are other ramifications to his playing or sitting. Jordan still aspires to play in the NHL and is drafted. If they see him sitting due to his illness that will have a huge affect on whether he makes the jump to the next level. He has a lot to prove that this WILL NOT affect his play. I, personally, have no doubt that he can play at the next level......the powers that be, on the other hand, will need that proof.
I understand what was said above (and was advocating to pull him this weekend as well), but BGFan makes a great point. Siggy needs to play when he is able.
Horrell and Frazee need to be prepared for the time they are ready. I think Jon is working on it (he's played well the last couple times out). They are not going to replace Siggy, they just need to hold their own and I think they will now that everybody officially understands the situation.

I'm confident Sigalet will let the coaches know if he needs to come out. Everyone's aware of the situation -- For those that "date" to the "good old days" how often did a goalie get pulled when the score was "big?" Not often.

Only if the score was up by 10, then only to give a back up goalie some PT. I remember the crowd yelling "We want PIWKO!!" Or "We want NOEL!!" (Crawford, from BG, btw). I think the coaches just caved in to the chanting and finally put the 2nd or 3rd goalie in. The crowd always went nuts when that happened.
And btw, was that a SLAM on my age???? Geez, just because I remember watching Brian Stankiewicz and Wally Charko play..... 8)

Not to revive an old thread for my first post here....
But if you haven't already, please go to hobeybaker.com and nominate Jordan Sigalet. And anyone else you so desire, since you can nominate as many people as you like. He needs 25 nominations to get on the voting ballot, which begins next month.
Thank you. And I miss Falcon hockey, living out east as I now do.
D'arcy? Whaaaa? How you doin'? I'm glad to see you are still paying attention to your alma mater!
I'm a bit confused, though. I could have sworn I saw you a couple of months ago with the Storm? Did you move or was I just on the rock a bit too hard?
Anyhow, we miss ya here, and I wish you nothing but the best!

Anyhow, sorry you're stuck out east. At least its nice in the fall (depending on where you are).
I'm pretty sure Jordan is going to get his required nominations for Hobey. I can't think of anyone in the country who is more deserving of the award, and I think there are quite a few people outside of BG and the CCHA who feel the same way.

Yeah, the summer and fall were great. The winter, not so fun (except for the whole hockey thing, but I miss the Falcons!)
I'm glad he's going to get the required nominations. I made a little push with the people out here. I think it worked, as the Boston Bruins angle appealed to them!
I must admit though, everyone at the office is sick of hearing about how good Jordan is!
