WCHA Championship game

Post by bgbill »

1) game tickets are available online from Michigan Tech now: https://tickets.mtu.edu/Online/default.asp
2) I hear there aren't many hotel rooms available. Be advised that the Quality Inn on Shelden Ave. isn't very spiffy, but it's close to the local tattoo parlors, and more importantly, the Ambassador Restaurant which is the place to go for pizza and drafts. http://theambassadorhoughton.com/
3)hope we have a lot of orange in the house next Saturday
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

20 hours of driving, 1200 mile round trip. As much as I want to be there, that's a hard pill to swallow.

Exactly how I feel. Wish our conference was more....central.

Any early word on TV coverage? I switched from Dish to DirecTV and man, the amount of channels I get on DirecTV is 5X as much as Dish. GO BG!

According to the WCHA website there is no TV coverage. You can stream it via WCHA.tv for a fee.

Should still be covered under the season package, correct? I know the first 2 rounds have been.

Mine wasn't, although I only had the BGSU road games package. I think anything above mine had the playoffs covered.

Any chance for a fan bus?

It looks like the game is almost sold out already. Standing room tickets are the only tickets left, according to their website.

I was stunned to hear that Bowling Green had not played in a conference tournament title game since 1990. We felt competitive in the early 1990s and we went a nice run or two near the end of the CCHA. If you had asked me, I would have guessed that surely somewhere in all that time the Falcons were in a conference tournament final.

But I guess not.

The thing is, I never doubted that Bowling Green is a hockey school and that we could get back to competing for NCAA tournament berths again. But, given how long it has been, I guess I can see why others had some doubt.

It's good to be back.

Cookie Roof had a great idea. Open the Ice Arena and show the game on the new video board. Couldn't love that idea more.

I know 4 season ticket holders who would be up for that scene!

We have played and had some success in the tournaments but this is the first year since then that we've made it to the finals.

That is a great idea but who knows what is going on in the ice arena at that time. The ice is almost perpetually in use for one thing or another.

I am going to go via Chicago and Milwaukee opposed through lower Michigan and across the U.P. I am going to drive to Milwaukee and go to NCAA basketball Midwest region and stay there Thursday and Friday and leave Saturday afternoon and make the remaining 5 hours drive. 10 hours is a long drive, considering more snow this weekend. Coming back will stay in Chicago Sunday, going to Avalanche Blackhawks game. Should be fun weekend!!
