3 - 1 Western Final

Empty netter with 50 seconds left. Really need these non-conference games. Guess one game in we know we have to win the league tournament to get in the NCAA tournament

We have 7 more non-conference games to play. We outshot Western by 11. Held them to 0 - 7 on the power play, Western had 39 shots against Ferris and we held them to 23. Their goalie was better tonight and that was the difference. In those 7 nonconference games to come we have 3 more games against the NCHC all at home and 3 games against the Big Ten with 1 home, I road, and at least 1 and possibly 2 in Detroit. This board is so negative to ALL of its teams. We are one game into the season. Give the team a chance.

The guys played fine. Penalty kill was dominant. One close game that we did ok in and lost close does not make a season. We'll do just fine this year. I agree, it often seems we have lots of posters who want the team to do poorly.

We can lose games like this and still be in good shape. But we'll definitely have to split these guys and probably sweep the Redskinhawks if we want any shot at an at large bid.
