Homecoming 2017

Post by gmartin »

So whose brilliant idea was it to have the homecoming parade on the same time and day as 3 BG athletic events.

During the duration of the homecoming parade you have the following events:

Women's Volleyball game at the Stroh
Women's soccer match at Cochrane
Ice Hockey at the Slater Arena

Brilliant planning

Does the parade last that long?
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Usually about 90 minutes. So by the time it's over you missed the volleyball match and 1st half of soccer. And if you walk from Main St or try to get into the Slate good luck finding a parking spot at 7pm, so you'll probably miss the 1st period.

Have the parade Saturday right before the football game! People can follow parade to the stadium. That's what UM, MSU, OSU and Miami do. Toledo last week had its homecoming parade before the game. BG always wants to make things difficult.

The parade lasted about 30 minutes at the most. I was at the Slater Family Ice Arena well before doors opened. You would also have been able to get to the soccer game in plenty of time. However, the volleyball games was at the same time as the parade.

Thanks John. Haven't been to the parade in years. I remember when they used to have it on Thursday night at 6:30 and it didn't end until after 8. They must really cut the parade route down. Still think it be a better idea to have it right before the football game
