Alabama-Huntsville (12/8 and 12/9)

UAH comes to the Madhouse on Friday (7:37) and Saturday (7:07) this weekend.

The Chargers come in sporting a 6-9-1 overall record so far this year, including 5-4-1 in conference games. They've won 3 of their last 5, with wins over Lake Superior, Ferris State, and Northern Michigan over that stretch.

In the WCHA standings, they are tied for 5th place with Ferris State with 16 points.

Their top goaltender's save percentage in conference games so far is just 0.917, and his GAA is 2.64, good for 5th and 9th in conference play, respectively.

My prediction?
Friday - BG 5, UAH 2
Saturday - BG 4, UAH 1

I'm thinking this could be when we finally put 2 full games together and get a sweep. We need it!

Go Falcons!

Need a sweep to keep at worst 2nd place in WCHA. Currently in 1st but Minnesota State has 2 games in hand. Currently sit #20 in pairwise so 2 wins will keep us near the top 20.

If we sweep, we'll remain in first place. We will continue to ride that way until the weekend off in February, when we are off.

It'll be tougher than years past, though. All time, we are 20-4-1 against these guys, but they're playing the best hockey they have played in years right now.

BG off to a quick start, scoring 1 min into the game.

However AH ties it up at 1.

End of 1, tied 2-2. Shots are 7-5, BG.

Coffman left the game after taking an elbow to the head. Only a 2 minute penalty called. Still scratching the head on that one.

Actually thought we were pretty good that period. Huntsville is definitely better than they have been, but the zone time was good and the pp (other than three of our guys skating into each other) looked good.

Circus Act 1 ends with nobody scoring. UAH did receive yet another powerplay though.....

Time for Circus Act 2.

In September, if you had told me that we'd have more ties than loses on the last day of fall semester classes, I'd be pretty thrilled. Now that I know how that came about, I'm not sure I feel the same way.

SATURDAY

End of 1, BG leads 2-0. Shots are 11-4, BG.

It's absolutely amazing how BG seems to be the only team committing penalties.
