vs. Michigan Tech (2/2-2/3 - Orange Weekend)
vs. Michigan Tech (2/2-2/3 - Orange Weekend)
Following a 2-game sweep of Lake Superior State this past weekend, the Falcons return home this coming weekend to take on the Huskies of Michigan Tech, with it being the last regular season home series for seniors Tyler Spezia, Mitch McLain, Jakob Reichert, and Brett D’Andrea. A single win this weekend will clinch us home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, so the stakes are high. The program is asking that all that attend both games WEAR ORANGE to have a really unified and electric pro-BG crowd in the building.
We have already matched up with Tech this season, and we went 2-0-1 against them. We took 5 points in a November series with them, tying 2-2 (with a shootout win) and winning 2-1, while also defeating them 4-1 in the GLI final earlier in 2018.
Statistically, here is how their main net-minder stacks up with ours in conference play (rankings out of 14):
GAA
Ryan Bednard - 1.90 (2nd)
Eric Dop - 2.75 (6th)
Patrick Munson - 2.87 (10th)
Save Percentage
Ryan Bednard - .928 (1st)
Eric Dop - .894 (11th)
Patrick Munson - .896 (10th)
Winning Percentage
Ryan Bednard - .750 (3rd)
Eric Dop - .600 (6th)
Patrick Munson - .500 (7th)
The Huskies are 32nd in the Pairwise, and they sit at 5th in the conference. These are must-win games if we are to prove that we truly belong in the national conversation.
I believe. Go Falcons!
Also, if you bring a non-perishable food item to any BGSU sporting event this weekend, you can redeem that for a free popcorn. Everyone wins, so please help the community out and do some good when you come to the Ice Arena this weekend.

Apparently Saturday's game is close to being a sellout.

We've got three tickets to Saturday's game.
ROLL ALONG!!!
Re: vs. Michigan Tech (2/2-2/3 - Orange Weekend)
I saw this morning that there are only 200 reserved bench seats left for Saturday night's senior night. I'm hoping General Admission tickets are going fast, too. While I am not expecting a complete sellout, I am hoping to attend my first game as a student with over 4,000 fans in attendance.

Exciting stuff. I remember when I was a student (during the dark years) there were a few games we'd get the rare 4,000+ crowd, and they made for some of my favorite memories as a spectator at BG games.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Fewer than 150 bench reserve seats left for Saturday's senior night. It's going to be a great crowd on hand. I hope the boys feed off of that energy in the building. Let's get some wins this weekend!

Don't think the officials can mess up tonight's outcome. BG on fire. 4 goals within 5 minutes. Up 4-0 midway through the 2nd.

End of 2, BG leads 4-0. Shots are 16-16.

I posted that before I knew Tech's defense was going on spring break. Going to have to have your head on a swivel during the 3rd.

With the win tonight we at least secured a top-four finish.

I don’t know the rules that well, so I’m only guessing. No one got a game misconduct, only 2, 2 minute penalties for roughing and a 10 minute misconduct. I think everyone will be playing tomorrow, unless the league steps in and suspends players.
Bring back the glory!
