Wasn't a good day for the WCHA in the NCAA Hockey Tournament.

Michigan Tech loses in OT to Notre Dame
Minnesota State blows a 2 goal lead and loses 3-2 to Duluth.

WCHA is done this year.

Fwiw, #1 and #3 overall seeds lost and ND escaped in OT. Anything can happen once Tournament starts. Wonder for financial reasons hockey will ever go to Best of 3 for round of 16 and also Quarters. Could make some extra money and a goalie can redeem himself if he has 1 bad night.

Rooting for the Buckeyes and Wolverines the rest of the way.

I want our guys to know that they beat Michigan this year, and that they (theoretically) made the Frozen Four. I want our guys to be humbled and realize that we can seriously compete with anyone.

And I am rooting for Ohio State because I think it would be amazing to be hosting the "defending national champions" next year. What a monumental game that would be.

I remember the last time Ohio State won a National Championship and how our student body reacted.

I'm a current student. I consider myself an Ohio State fan (mostly football and basketball). But when they play BG in ANYTHING, I'm all Falcon.

I don't think they generally care about hockey outside of BG at all. I don't think the students would become Ohio State hockey fans or anything like that. I just think it would make for a huge matchup, and I don't know how that wouldn't get people excited.

Ohio State doesn't need my support, and I don't offer it.

Well then you are rooting for Duluth as the Frozen 4 has 3 Big Ten teams. OSU, UM, ND and Duluth are in the Frozen 4.

I seriously want every one of these 4 remaining teams to lose. <sigh>

I guess if I had to pick a champion it would have to be Minnesota-Duluth because I don't care for the Big Ten in anyting.

I have a hard time rooting for anyone from the NCHC as they panicked and continued the problems that the big 10 started so I can't root for Duluth. I also can't root for Duluth due to they got the NCAA spot BG should have received back in 1983. I can't root for Michigan because of their arrogant fan base. I can't root for Ohio State due to the Big Ten.

So I guess it is go Irish!

I can get behind this adding that I don't want to see Pearson rewarded in his first year. So I guess it's go Domers.

Michigan makes both the Final and Frozen Four. I'm too lazy to look...has that been done before?

Yes - the last time was Michigan State in 2001.

ESPN says Michigan did it in 1992 and 1993, but those Final Fours were later vacated (thanks Fab 5).

They also mentioned that Michigan did it in 1964, as well.
