WCHA CHAMPIONSHIP: Minnesota State (3/23)

It’s here.
After 2 long years, our Falcons have clawed their way back to the WCHA championship game. This is a battle-tested group that has been through a lot over the years, and now there’s one more road trip to Mankato standing between us and a conference championship. This coming Saturday, our Bowling Green Falcons (25-9-5) will take on the Minnesota State Mavericks (31-7-2), with a trophy on the line.
At the time of this writing, we sit 13th in the PairWise, so we’re in a relatively good spot, but I want to kick the door clean-down, so I hope we go up there and win the whole thing. It’s going to be an incredible battle, and this one’s for all the marbles.
This is for all the fans, alumni, community members, and friends of the program who have watched every single heartbreak from the last 29 years. It’s time to break this streak, win the conference, and get into the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1990. I believe.
Goaltender Stats:
BGSU
Ryan Bednard GAA - 1.74, SV% - .927, 20-6-4
Eric Dop GAA - 1.34, SV% - .948, 5–3-1
MSU
Dryden McKay GAA - 1.65, SV% - .932, 23-6-2
It’s championship week, so I’m hoping for lots of discussion and predictions here. It’s time to close the deal and kick the door down, boys! Go Falcons!
