@ Miami (10/6)
@ Miami (10/6)
It’s here.
Finally, after 185 days (and counting) since the OT loss to the now 2-time defending national champions, Minnesota-Duluth, in our first NCAA tournament appearance since 1990, our Falcons are back on the ice this weekend. This one has been circled since April when Coach Bergeron took his talents to Oxford. Of course, I wish him nothing but the best - but this one is personal, no doubt. It's time for our boys to get their self-proclaimed "Revenge Tour" started.
The Redhawks were 11-23-4 a season ago, but they're certainly going to be juiced for this one - and I wouldn't want it any other way. Crazy enough, it appears we have just 1 win in Oxford since the 2000-2001 season. However, we're also 62-49-9 all-time against the Redhawks.
Our last 8 overall with Miami:
T 2-2
L 6-3
W 4-1
L 2-1 (OT)
L 4-1
L 2-1
L 3-2
W 3-2
The game is Sunday, October 6th at 5:00pm at Goggin Ice Center in Oxford, OH. If you can't make it to the game (and I've heard there will be a group of students making the trip, FYI), you can follow along by following @BGFalconHockey on twitter for updates throughout, or you can listen to Ryan Vallon on the call. There is likely a stream, but it is almost certainly through the NCHC, and it will cost you roughly $25, because from what I can tell you must purchase streams by month through that conference (which would also seemingly get you the WMU game on October 19th). I haven't heard anything about FloHockey picking up the game, and they likely don't have the rights to do so.
Probable Goaltender Stats 2018-2019:
BGSU
Jr. Eric Dop... GAA - 1.34, SV% - .948, 5–3-1
Miami
Sr. Ryan Larkin... GAA - 3.05, SV% - .907, 10-16-2
It's October and Falcon Hockey is finally back, so I’m hoping for lots of discussion and predictions here. It’s time to start another journey - the 50th in program history. Go Falcons!

Re: @ Miami (10/6)
Lots of discussion on the upcoming game....I expect nothing less from the hockey board.
I’m predicting a tie for this one. 3-3. Bergeron will have an advantage in knowing our personnel, but BG will have some extra motivation playing their former coach. I expect a sloppy game on both sides with lots of turnovers and some defensive breakdowns on both sides.

Miami State psych video. Pure schadenfreude (sorry Schadnefreude...)

And I think I'm the only one who wants to see Miami State get beaten like a drum from here on out. I want Bergeron, Schutte, and Spratt to look back on their careers and think their time with us was their high water mark.
See you at Goggin tomorrow for the first beat down.

Re: @ Miami (10/6)
Why in the world would anyone want to dredge up the name of an often mocked, and abject failure name like "revenge tour" -- and recycle it for BG hockey? The last team to use that stupid name ended up having a really bad season, and was ridiculed mercilessly for it.

Agreed, it's dumb. Alot of better season slogans, if one is really even needed (I don't think so).Falconwriter wrote:Why in the world would anyone want to dredge up the name of an often mocked, and abject failure name like "revenge tour" -- and recycle it for BG hockey? 2-1 after 2. SOGs 25-8 in our favor. Larkin stood on his head to keep it at a one goal deficit for them.
Now we see if Ty can do something Berge couldn’t...hold a lead going into the third.
And for such a fantastic facility they have down here, their PA system isn’t worth sh!t.

It sounds like Dalton has a bad injury. He went off during the 2nd period and hasn't returned for the 3rd. Cullen also just got hit by a high stick and was taken to the bench.

Re: @ Miami (10/6)
Cam Wright had the first 2 goals, then Ford got the 3rd.
It's 3-1 Falcons here in the third period with less than 15 left.
Cullen is back on the ice.

Evan Dougherty gets one! First of his career. Freshman T.J. Lloyd had an assist on it.
It's 4-1, BGSU.
