Following the much-needed off weekend, our Falcons (13-11-1) will head on the road to take on the Bemidji State Beavers (14-8-4). Friday's game will begin at 8:07pm EST, while Saturday night is slated for a 7:07pm EST puck drop. Both games this weekend will be available to stream on FloHockey. You can also listen to Ryan Vallon on the radio call, or follow @BGFalconHockey on Twitter for updates throughout the game.

Bemidji

They’re in a fight atop the WCHA standings, and we are scrapping for home ice in the first round, so this is clearly a very important series for both teams, and it’s absolutely crucial that we get points this weekend. So, let’s get it. Go Falcons!

Pathetic night. Running out of time to turn this season around. There isn't a single aspect of this team I am optimistic about.

Those of you who’ve seen us play ( I might be up on the 8th)... what’s biggest problem? Lack of offense, scoring in general, inconsistent goalkeepers?
Would like to hear your insights as we’ve won 1, tied 1 of last 7-8 games by rough count.

Scoring is definitely the #1 issue. On the other hand, too many nights the team does not show up ready to play. In particular they tend to come out and give an effort against better teams, but do not appear prepared to play against "weaker" teams.Class of 61 wrote:Those of you who’ve seen us play ( I might be up on the 8th)... what’s biggest problem? I dont know who to blame (pretty much impossible if you arent in the room) but they just don't look engaged and ready to play and battle out wins a majority of nights. That's a shame because there is just as much talent out there as there has been in previous seasons. This one is quickly approaching busted season time though.

It’s just hard to figure out what exactly is plaguing this team. They don’t look like they play with the same fire as previous teams.
We have the talent to be in (and win) almost every game, but we’ll be .500 with another loss tonight.
Still a lot of games we should win down the stretch, but a pretty disappointing follow-up to last year.

I’m sure the team will get back to the NCAA tournament again around 2048 or 2049.

Swept again.
I wonder if these guys internalized the wrong lessons from the past few years. Coast through the mid/late season losing a bunch of winnable games and somehow find a way to turn it up in the playoffs. Obviously the coaching staff hasnt fixed that problem. This year's team is taking it to the extreme.

I have nothing positive to say.
Back home next week. Hope it's better than the last 10ish have been.

Tell the trainer to stop passing out smelling salts before games! Such an easy fix to get back to the NCAA tournament, yet we continue to sniff our way toward the bottom tier of the WCHA standings!

Perhaps it's time to take away the puddle hopper and spend some more time in the bus.....

Minnesota State - 84
Bemidji State - 81
Northern Mich - 75
Bowling Green - 54
Those are goals scored boys and girls. I know 54 goals gave up in league play isn't ideal, but at the end of the day this team doesn't have the shooting. It's leading them to take too many risks and get burnt. Just think too this is 54 goals with a 9 goal outing versus Alabama Huntsville lol
