2020 Offseason
As mentioned in a Todd Walker interview with Eigner released today, this upcoming season BG will be:
at St. Lawrence
Home-and-home with Western Michigan
Home-and-home with Miami State
Home against RIT on either 12/31/20 or 1/1/21 at Bowling Green and then at Fifth/Third field in Toledo for the outdoor Winterfest game on 1/2/21 https://www.toledowalleye.com/en/winter ... ege-hockey
And only one trip to Alaska.
Two years in a row with no OSU series.
This doesn't account for any Covid-19 impact.

Re: 2020 Offseason
Traded Notre Dame for St. Lawerence...... Yikes
I know other variables come to play like schedule opening dates and who will give you a even trade in terms of playing games and not some two for one UM garbage.
This non-schedule isn't going to help looking on paper, we'd better be ready to rip off about 20 league wins to compensate for loss of schedule strength.
Point taken though with how much will be impacted still by COVID-19.

Re: 2020 Offseason
I wonder if teams weren't willing to come here next year. It seemed like a miracle to get Notre Dame on the schedule last year.
I would assume Ohio State eventually makes their way back on our schedule. I know the program's philosophy is to keep working with the in-state and MAC schools (WMU, OSU, and Miami).

We swept ND. They're not about to play us anytime soon.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Re: 2020 Offseason
To build on that, our last series with Ohio State included an 8-2 win at their place, and our last game against Michigan was a 6-4 win.bgbill wrote:We swept ND. They're not about to play us anytime soon.
I'm not sure any Big Ten school is jumping at the chance to play us, much less come into our building. And I know our policy in recent years has generally been that we have to get a home game out of it in order to consider playing them.

No question everyone is scared to play @BG. Lucky we can get a single non-conference home game. The fear of BG around college hockey is well known.

Re: 2020 Offseason
Only problem with the non-conference schedule is the outdoor game. It would have been nice to find a travel partner close by to go east. Single games versus more teams is better for Pairwise, provided you win.

Re: 2020 Offseason
CHN has posted our 2020-21 roster. Do people have any insights into how accurate this is? For instance:
o 2 incoming freshman are listed (makes sense)
o 9 (nine!) incoming freshmen forwards are listed (??)
o Gavin Gould is not listed (?)

It's not fully accurate if we don't have Gould - he's definitely still around and is going to be a solid contributor for us.

Could you imagine trying to watch that on TV? It'd be hard enough from the stands.BG84 wrote:There would be brown and orange accents, of course. Checkerboard, anyone?Hockey John wrote:BG84 wrote:Here's my idea for uniforms: White pants with white jerseys.![]()
