That's too bad. I liked that Alabama-Huntsville was trying to do this.

UAH just finished announcing their freshman class on Twitter. Now this. I really feel for all those guys down there.
Throw the current league schedule out the window. Alaska, Ferris, Lake Superior, and Tech play UAH 4 times this year (we always play them 4 times). Everyone has to play the same number of games.
Before going back to the drawing board, has someone from the league office phoned Fairbanks and Anchorage? No sense in doing this a third time.

Given everything that is happening with universities (look no further than Furman and BG ending baseball, too), I doubt this will be the final volley on this topic. And if for some reason students can't come back to campus in the Fall, look for even more drastic cuts to programs -- especially athletics.

I think this could change two or three more times, recently had a conversation with someone about the CCHA next year (21-22) and with all thats going on, all it would take is two schools to cut hockey and now we are in trouble with a league that doesn't have enough members to form a league. A lot of moving parts and uncertainty, hopefully those that are making these decisions are on top of this.

They’ll need to be in a conference to have a team beyond this year. And for that to happen, they’re going to have to secure funding for an on-campus arena to show that their administration is dedicated and committed to hockey in Huntsville, long-term.
Lots of work to be done for them to be safe beyond this year.

Won’t do them any good until they have their own rink.
