@ NMU (11/26, 11/27)

Falcons headed north again this weekend against a familiar foe, and the program that ousted them from the WCHA playoffs and all but popped the bubble for a tournament berth.
Horne, Ghantous, and Colella are the skill guys for the Wildcats up front and are all top ten in league scoring. DiMatteo is back in goal and he's off to a slow start after bursting onto the scene in the second half last year.
Hate playing up there with the international sized sheet, seems to always give our guys fits.
Here's to a sweep.

Pick drop. Tough start. Took another early penalty that we killed. Little in the way of offensive zone time. Shots are 7-0 Cats at the first break.

BG Goal! Taylor Schneider unassisted, a little over halfway through the first.
Falcons have not carried play, but we’ll always take a lead. Now, time to start playing better.
1-0 BG.

And just after the second break Schneider follows up his shot with the first goal of the game. Shots are now 10-2. And we have a PP.

Weird goal for NMU. Rose gave up a rebound and the guy just chipped it up over him.
Game is tied at 1. 2 and a half to play in the first.

And immediately, we’re caught out of position and NMU scores again. Maybe 30 seconds later, we’re now down 2-1.
Need a response here.

And on top of that, we took a tripping call during the scoring of the goal, so we’re short handed for basically the rest of the period.

Another turnover at our blue line leads to a tie game. Not sure what we’re trying to accomplish with our breakout plan. And before I can hit submit, NMU makes it 2-1 on a really nice goal. And we get a penalty out of the deal.
This has been a highly discombobulated period for us.

BG kills the penalty, but that was a rough period. I guess all things considered, you’d be happy it’s only a 1-goal game.
Shots (according to the broadcast counter) were 16-4 for NMU. So, we need to tighten things up here.

Summary of the first period: blech.

GOAL! Taylor Schneider (Alex Barber on the assist) gets his 2nd of the night and we’re tied at 2 with 9 to play in the middle frame.

Can’t clear our zone. 3-2.

And after we struggle hard to clear the puck, a puck finds the back of our net. Rose didn’t look like he had any idea that one was coming, as he barely flinched as it got past him.
3-2 NMU, with 2 to play in the 2nd.

And NMU with another immediate goal.
Seems to be a trend that when you beat Rose, it causes an avalanche. That’s something we absolutely must address.
4-2 NMU.

Lost track of a guy out front. Scramble leads to a 4-2 game.
