vs. Bemidji State (1/14-1/15)

Following a road sweep of St. Thomas and riding a 3-game win streak overall, our Falcons (11-8-3) return home to the Slater Family Ice Arena to take on the Bemidji State Beavers (12-10-0). Both games will begin at 7:07pm and will be available to stream through FloHockey.

Friday night is both Fan Appreciation Night and Brian Holzinger Bobblehead Night, so tickets are seemingly going fast for that one. I also believe it was advertised as a “White Out” at one point.

Saturday night is both Star Wars Night and the Teddy Bear Toss, as well.

This is a battle between the teams in 2nd and 3rd place in the CCHA, so getting some points out of this weekend is absolutely crucial if we want to keep the pace in the race for home ice.

Interesting tidbit - Jack Blake is on the roster. I'm guessing he's a spring enrollee? Curious to see if he gets any playing time before the end of the season.

Perhaps he's enrolled to fulfill a clearinghouse or enrollment requirement? If he plays now, his eligibility will run out after the first semester of his senior year. Probably needs to be officially on the roster to practice with the team, and partake in other team activities.

I’m pretty sure Adam Smith did the mid-year enrollee thing, right? And when he did it, he only ended up playing 3.5 seasons because he started right away at the midpoint of his first year. Can someone back me up on that with a better memory than I have?

Smith and Jordan Ernst came in halfway through the 15-16 season and we’re both immediate contributors. I think we were down to 6 or 7 d-men on the roster at the time.

Just to add onto this, it does say that he has 4 years of eligibility in his bio, INCLUDING this season.

So I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s playing before the end of the year.

Holy cow, I had to look up those +/- numbers. Wozney is a freshman so, well, mmmmkaaaayyyy. Coyle is our Huntsville transfer. Hmmm.
