Ryan Bednard BGCertainly an interesting note on McKay being in the ECHL. Could that be due to his doping suspension?TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 4:44 pm To maximize my Flo value I find myself searching all over the place to see which BG alums in the ECHL are going to be broadcast live that evening. It's a pain. So I thought I'd collect everything in one spot and share with the rest of the Flo-minded folks. I'll update this a couple of times during the season. Not all ECHL rosters are published at the moment, but here's a who's who of BG and other well known WCHA/CCHA names.
Note that all world goaltender Dryden McKay is currently teammates with Brandon Kruse in Newfoundland. I find it curious that the reigning Hobey Baker winner is starting his professional career in the ECHL. Does anyone know that last time that happened?

If he had the size of Ryan Bernard he’d be in much better shape. He’s good, but he’s never been Spencer Knight good. Nothing to do with his doping issue which was a nothingburger to begin with.mbenecke wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 5:56 pmCertainly an interesting note on McKay being in the ECHL. He was an average goaltender on an above average team. It's easy to stop the puck when the other team is getting the blueline and dumping it in. He'll stop the puck, but he's not going to steal you a game.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 7:35 pm

As a know-nothing college hockey fanboy I never bought into the hype, but I’m surprised he didn’t at least start in the AHL before being demoted.

https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2022/11/hockey-canada-names-coaching-staff-for-2023-world-juniors.htmlHis unbeaten streak with the Sens to start his NHL career was so fun to watch, and ended up making him millions of dollars. Good for him on a really nice career.mbenecke wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 3:29 pm Andrew Hammond has called it a career and announced his retirement today. Great Falcon, and it was awesome to see him go on a couple of hot streaks in the NHL in his career. Congrats, Hammy! Hoping he’ll stop by The Slate in the future and be properly recognized.
