CCHA Quarterfinals vs. Ferris State (3/3-3/5)

Best of 3 series starts Friday night. #3 BG hosts #6 Ferris State. I’ll be in the building on Saturday evening for my son’s first game. If nothing else, I’m excited to celebrate that occasion.
We’ve got a chance, but I don’t feel super confident. Anyone have any analysis to add?

Make sure you check your ticket accounts for the the series. We buy 3 season tickets on one account, then transfer 2 of them. When they sent out the playoff tickets, they only sent one per game for us instead of 3. We'll be trying to straighten that out tomorrow.

Both these teams come in playing from pretty poor hockey so something will have to give. Going to take my gut and pick Ferris in 3.

I wonder what the crowd will be considering the terrible weather

Aren’t the students also heading off on spring break?

I hadn’t even thought about that. That sucks. I hate that the most important games of the year (playoffs, home against Ohio State and often Mankato) happen when students are gone. Those teams should have to face hostile crowds here.

Coyle, Blake, and Parker all out forces BG to use forward Evan Dougherty at RD in a playoff game.
Disastrous season for injuries.

Eigs said in the coaches talk that we’re going with 5 d-men though we may see Grant and Dougherty back there on a shift or two.

Mike McMahon picks BG to sweep so we all know that's not going to happen.

Sounds like a good chunk of the team (if not all of them) will be rocking new haircuts this weekend. The boys went and got mullets.
If nothing else, morale and belief in themselves seems to be high. Maybe that counts for something?

BGSU Goal: Dalton Norris throws one at the net that deflects off a Ferris skate and in, and BG leads 1-0.

Dougherty being looked at by the training staff.
When does the injury curse end?
