Hockey this weekend. Rico is in town. I may go to Saturday's game.

Discuss.

The Tommies have been playing well. They swept Northern last weekend by a combined goal total of 10-3. I think Stav is up for the coaches chalk talk tonight.

Edit: Eigs is handling the chalk talk tonight.

The enthusiasm for hockey this year is permeated through this message board. It's home hockey and the first posts are on Friday.........

Nothing we have done as fans, it's been done to us. Thus no one is fired up to watch this product good or bad. Sad.

When the press conferences posted on YouTube start in the middle of a question, it's hard to get excited when there's so much information purposely withheld.

We totally outplay them for 7 min, take a dumb penalty, and a bad bounce leads to a PP goal. Grrrrr.

Controlled the game with the exception of 10 minutes in the first.

2nd week in a row a hit on the puck carrier has lead to a successful review for a 5 with no initial call on the play. That should be disturbing to the league leadership.

This was not one of Stoever’s better games.

He hasn’t had a very good season. But his defense isn’t doing him any favors, either.

We’re bad right now. No other way to say it. We have serious issues we need to figure out, and it’s not going to get any easier. Looking like a 3rd straight losing season, at this point.

I thought they played well until that first goal. We got through the NZ pretty well, had a lot of shots and some nice looks. We controlled play in their zone for long stretches. Stoever looked lost trying to play the puck behind the net. That shorty they scored off that dumb turnover was a backbreaker.

The bounce off the Zamboni doors was the only sign of life from St Thomas before the first media timeout. That was the only shot on goal the first 10 minutes. BG had 9 or 10 at that point. After the media timeout, BG couldn't do anything the rest of the period. Seems like even the 2nd and 3rd BG continued most of the play.

Flip the jerseys and we'd be saying we had no business winning that game. That goaltender pretty much stole that one.
