The playoffs have arrived.
BG goes to Tech for a best of 3 quarterfinal series, looking for their first playoff series win since 2020.
Game 1 is set for Friday at 7:07pm, Game 2 is slated for Saturday at 6:07pm, and if necessary, Game 3 will be Sunday at 5:07pm. All games will be available to stream on Flo.
Do or die, boys. Go Falcons.

Lotta puck talk around here this week. You can just feel the excitement for the playoffs.

We won 2 of 12 points from these guys, just got swept at home, and are on a 4-game losing streak. The good news is we stole the 2 points up in Houghton. The other good news is the last game at Northern wasn't a bad one, we just made one more mistake than they did.

I had a friend ask me what we should be rooting for this weekend. He asked if we should just want them to lose so it makes it easy to move on from this staff.
I told him I will never stop wanting to win, so we're rooting for an improbable run that begins this weekend. Even though we likely know how this ends, and what's likely coming in the offseason, I still want to win. I am still rooting for Ty to be successful and turn things around. I am still rooting for these players to put it all together.
Just win, baby.

Injury update: Swankler still isn't skating with the team in practice and will likely be a scratch for the weekend.
I don't think Eigs is going anywhere, no matter the outcome this weekend. We all agree the results aren't there but with what happened at the start of the season and the raft of injuries the team has dealt with all year, it's too difficult to assess whether his performance was above average or sub-par. Just my opinion as one who wants desperately for this guy to succeed.

I'd feel this way if this season was a one-off instead of the third sub-.500 season in a row, but we can save the offseason talk for the offseason.
What do we have to do to steal a pair of wins this weekend?

Once again we continue to pretend that what happened to start the year happened in some alternate world, and not in the program led by Ty Eigner with a player Ty Eigner brought to Bowling Green. It's his program and he isn't a victim in his own program. He should be long long gone, but won't be.

Score goals.
And keep theirs to a minimum, I'd imagine.

'tis the name of the game - score more than the other team.

And see, I thought hockey was the name of the game. Learning all kinds of stuff this week.

Looks like we flew up to Houghton. Good move, no sense in seeing the Bridge a second time in two weeks.

I believe the league pays for travel the next 3 weeks. How the Financials work on that in not sure, but it looks like the same plane another team posted a picture of a couple weeks ago.

After we get 32 seconds on the PP, we take an undisciplined post-whistle penalty for no reason to cost ourselves a minute and a half opportunity.
Can’t do that. Just can’t.
