Following last night’s tough game at Western Michigan, our Falcons (2-1-0) next head to New York to take on the RIT Tigers (2-2-0) for another single game. They will be making a return trip to the Slate in late December. This game will take place on Saturday, October 19 at 7:05pm. It will be available to stream on… FloHockey. Of course.
RIT has played 4 contests so far. They lost in OT at St. Lawrence 3-2, they beat Clarkson 3-2, and then they split a pair of 4-2 contests with Mercyhurst. This will be their home opener, and it serves as their “Brick City Game” which appears to be their homecoming equivalent, so you know it’s a big deal to them.
Pretty excited to see Willy vs. Wayne. Should be an interesting battle, and it’s a good opportunity for us to get a solid road win for our resume.
Go Falcons! Beat RIT!

Game is on Flo. Hills and Wilson were the assistants that recruited Willy to play at BG. The game will have an interesting dynamic for sure.

Zlnka, Lookeberg, Ozar, and *Krieger all getting on the lineup sheet. Replacing Martin, Kabanov, Niedermayer.
*Krieger and Blake are both listed as extra skaters.

Sort of a meh period. Looked a little slow. Not a ton of good scoring chances though we were successful in taking a dumb penalty early. 0-0 after one.

Tons of good chances, nada. RIT goalie coming up big. Moore over commits, they get a wraparound. Of course they do. 1-0 RIT.

I'm not sure the incompetents in the CCHA would have achieved the Shi-Show level of deciding which player should come out of the box. After that extended delay, and musical chairs, they still got it wrong.

1-1 going into OT. Gotta beat a goaltender who is on fire to win. Tall task.

Stjernberg wins it with under a minute to go in OT.

SNIPE!
Only reason that game was close was the RIT goaltender. Kid could definitely be on portal watch if he keeps playing like that.

Nice to rebound from the WMU game. Shows a lot of maturity within the program. Finally home for a meaningful game next weekend.
