Our Falcons (7-7-2) return home on December 29 for a little Sunday afternoon matinee action, as they will face the RIT Tigers (4-14-1) at 3:00pm that day. Tickets are extra cheap, so if you’re looking for a stocking stuffer or a late gift, bring the whole family! Parking is even free for this one.
We’re bringing our son for his first real hockey experience (he went when he was about 6 weeks old, but slept through it all - he’ll be 2 next month), and I cannot wait to get out for this one.
Go Falcons! Beat RIT and start this second half push!

Anybody know if Korodiuk is eligible to suit up or does he have to wait for school to start? I'm not sure what the rules are on enrolling or what the timing is.

I believe he'll be eligible, based on a certain transfer playing in the GLI last season.

I thought I read that he is eligible at some point the first week in January, probably has to do when the semester begins.

Tech fans seem to think their mid-season goaltender addition will be dressing for the GLI and may get the start if they end up playing Northern in the losers bracket. If there's any truth to that I would think Korodiuk would be available for RIT. Available <> playing.

I won't be surprised if he's dressed as the 7th D-man. At least for Sunday. Couple shifts to see how close he is coming in, before throwing him into the league schedule or risking a red shirt.
Part of me is almost wondering if he isn't coming in to avoid possible visa issues. This is his 4th season stateside. It may be a case of needing to enroll in college or risk losing the student visa.

End of 1, BG leads 1-0.
BG controlled most of that period. Korodiuk dressed as 7th D. He was cycled through with most of the other D. Only time he looks out of place is when another BG player is close with a free puck in between. That aspect will get better with more than 2 practices with teammates.

2-1 win. Shots on goal were 46-20.
Despite the actual action on the ice, penalties/powerplays were equal. Absolutely amazing. RIT sure likes to cheap shot and dive.

I thought for sure they’d call embellishment. Nope.

Felt like a dominant first period. Our little guy got a little restless just after the halfway mark of the middle frame so we took off for dinner, but was glad that they were able to pull through. Nice to get the delayed sweep over RIT!

They couldn't even properly blow the whistle when Scardina got injured. They waited until BG touched the puck in their end, which put the faceoff near Stoever. There wasn't an imminent scoring chance when he went down, so it should have blown while BG had possession.

I thought yesterday was pretty great. A Sunday matinee over break would typically make me expect a smaller crowd, but attendance was 3,297 yesterday. They were really smart to recognize that opportunity and make tickets cheap and give people free parking, and it seems like it really paid off. Great to get a win, too. Feeling positive about the direction of our program this morning.

It would have been 3299 but I have a horrible cold and didn't make the trip.

With 27 shots I'd say so! I felt like I was watching Michigan State not Bowling Green State out there. Props to the RIT goalie for his performance however Mr. Post helped him out a little bit. I've harped on it a bit but our shooting ability is not great, I think it reared its head a bit here yesterday. They're breakouts and puck possession are certainly improving, and the defensive play is lightyears ahead of last year. The Falcons just need someone not named Brody Waters to be able to find the back of the net. Our 2018-19 NCAA tournament team had 7 guys at 20+ points, that's about what you need to be a tournament team. Right now we're on pace to only have 3 of those guys
