Following an incredibly close series with Augustana, our Falcons (12-9-4, 4th CCHA) next head up to Marquette, MI to take on the Northern Michigan Wildcats (4-21-1, 9th CCHA). Friday night’s game will begin at 7:07pm, and Saturday’s contest will begin at 6:07pm. We have seen this team twice this season, in our building back in December, and we took both games, 2-0 and 4-3. Gonna be a challenge to go up there and navigate the Olympic ice, but we’ve gotta figure out a way to handle it and come out victorious.
NOTABLE STATS:
Goals Per Game: BG 2.36 (7th), NMU 1.46 (9th)

Face-off Percentage: BG .532 (1st), NMU .508 (3rd)
Blocked Shots Per Game: BG 10.24 (8th), NMU 17.92 (1st)
GOALIE STATS:

Since these two teams play played, Northern has split with Mankato, swept Bemidji, and lost to Tech 3 times. As much as you hate to say it, this is probably the defining series for the rest of the season. St Thomas, @Bemidji, and Lake Superior remaining, this is a 1.000 weekend to remain top half in the league.

Agree with this. NMU has been playing better as of late, but this is where you earn home ice. Even if they have found their form, we still need to find a way to beat a 4-win team.
Every team left on our schedule is currently below us in the CCHA standings. We need to come out and win those games against teams we should be "better" than.

This is our problem. We play good within our structure but the shooting ability of this team is very below average

Anything outside a sweep will be a disappointing weekend.
But a couple good efforts together and move on.

The big ice will be interesting. Going to need to keep their legs under them.

BG is dominating shots 24-11 currently (it was 20-3 at one point) and Pasanen finally puts BG ahead late in the 2nd. We’ve played with our food a little too much tonight.

That was one of the best 2nd periods all season. Playing with a lead has been a struggle of late. Let's change that in the 3rd.

1-1 game. We let them hang around too long. Brutal defending there and now we’re hanging on for dear life with 17 minutes to play.

Scardina gets us back in front with 15:50 to play. 2-1 Falcons. Need the next goal, too.

We’re in OT. Frankly a little embarrassing to drop points in a game like this. Reminds me of a game against Bemidji a few weeks ago where we outshot them by like 15 but didn’t win.

Dreadful defense in tradition gives NMU a powerplay just 30 seconds into OT.

We get tripped on a semi breakaway in OT and don't get the call of course. Need to find a way to keep the puck out of the net during pulled goalie situations lol.

You'd think we'd have practiced EA situations. Geez, even a lousy box-and-1 would be better than what we did tonight. Gave another point away.
