@/vs. Notre Dame (1/30-31)

Following the weekend sweep at Bemidji, our Falcons (14-6-4, 3rd CCHA) next have their final non-conference series of the season, with a home and home against the Big Ten's Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-18-1). Friday night's game will take place in South Bend, with a 7:00pm game that will stream on Peacock. Saturday night's game will be at home, inside an already sold out Slater Family Ice Arena, and will begin at the usual 6:07pm start time, streaming on Midco.

ND has obviously struggled this year, given their record. However, they are entering off their first win since November after defeating Ohio State 6-1 on Saturday, so they may have found a little something to their game. Ultimately, it's another series against a weaker team, and our last "easy" series of the season, so we need to keep pushing to stack wins here. We're currently 20th in the NPI and cannot afford a loss to a low ranked team if we are going to keep our outside shot at an at-large bid alive. Let's get 2 wins here an keep the momentum rolling, after being 6-1-1 since the calendar turned to 2026.

Go Falcons!

Sure is. I’m always VERY worried this site has reached its end when it goes down, and it was like 3 or 4 days straight this time.

I want this site to exist forever, in part because of the archives and history here. Yeah, the message board format is a bit outdated. I get that. But man… it’s cool to be able to search up a topic and see things posted from like 2008, when I was only 10 years old and obviously wasn’t even close to posting here yet. That history is so important to keep alive, if we can.

(But if anyone wants to erase my posts from like 2016 blindly supporting Mike Jinks and saying it’s gonna work out, I can live with that!)

Let’s beat ND this weekend and add to that history together!

We're all guilty of a little misguided hiring judgements from time to time. Over the years I have thought Babers was a bad hire, Roos and Chmiel were good hires, and Louis Orr was a slam dunk hire. I am not batting 1.000.

Looking forward to getting back to Notre Dame (1/30) and visiting places that used to be an annual thing, like Rocco's.

As one who used to live in SB (and saw the Falcons play at the old rink ND in the Joyce), I can attest to Rocco’s.

Any word on whether there will be a pregame meet and greet similar to the Varsity in CBus?

In this week's team video it looks like Morneau practiced in full gear.

Long time reader, first time poster…

Should be a good couple of games this weekend. Despite Notre Dame’s record, they’ve got plenty of skill. Both teams commit plenty of penalties, so special teams will be key. Hoping for a BG sweep and no injuries as we head into the stretch run.

I was at both games in 2019. Notre Dame came into the game at Compton with a long home winning streak, and BG absolutely took them to the cleaners. All of their fans seemed shell shocked, and the Falcon fans definitely made their presence known. Was pretty awesome.

Good to see new users are being approved. Welcome aboard! That 2019 series was something special, as was that team.

Morneau is in the lineup tonight. Looks like he's slotted as the 4th line center.
