Purchase your parking pass ahead of time. I'm usually there an hour before puck drop so I don't know exactly how heavy traffic gets, but there's usually a large amount parked across the street at the Rec, and field house.

If you're getting general admission tickets, sit about halfway up in section E, at the opposite end of the video board. BG shoots that way (the net towards the student section in the closed end) in the first and third period. Best GA seats you can get. Only thing about sitting there - your sectionexit will be roped off from leaving to go to concessions/bathrooms for the last 4 minutes of each period (and right at the end of intermission) because the player and coaches go under your section to go to and from the locker room. Kind of an old barn quirk. At the end of the game, stay to take in the band playing the alma mater and Beer Barrel (with a win) to let the crowd clear out and you'll have an easier time leaving the parking lot.
It's Sic Sic reveal AND senior night, so I would expect it to be pretty packed. Getting there early is your friend. With the 6:07 start, I believe the gates will open at 5:00pm. Definitely stop in to check out the pro shop. Might be worth it to get your kid a game puck, they sometimes have the date or opponent/game theme on there, and they're not super expensive, so a pretty quality souvenir for your son's first game.
During starting lineup introductions, people are screaming "Who's he? Nobody!" Feel free to participate. With it being senior night, the Bleacher Creatures might throw a newspaper on every seat in the building. That was a tradition when I was in the group from 2016-2020.
Enjoy it! I think hockey games are the greatest experience you can possibly have on campus, and they are what keep me coming back. I believe I've been to 26 hockey games (according to my record in my notes app,

) on campus since I graduated, and that isn't stopping anytime soon. Truly nothing like a packed Slate on a Saturday night in BG.

I have two extra passes to the Falcon Club lounge. On Saturdays the athletic department brings in student athletes from other sports. Last week was swimming. Before that it was golf, v-ball, gymnastics. It's a great way to "cross-pollinate" the various BG sports teams. The two passes are yours if you want them, PM me your email address. The lounge opens an hour before the game starts though we've gotten in a little earlier - depends on who is running the check in desk. They have free snacks and a cash bar.
And to add on to PTs comment, I believe it's an additional $2 to purchase parking at the lot so if you get your parking in advance you'll save some cashola for the mini donuts (mmmm...).
And to add on to mbenecke's comment, if you're sitting in Section E be ready to point and yell "YOU SUCK!" along with the student section at each opposing player and ref/linesman when they leave the ice. I may be wrong but this feels like a newer tradition and it's a good one though it may be inappropriate for your son depending on age.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately, we will be coming in hot from my sons basketball game in Columbus at 2 so I'm not sure we would make it on time.
Where can you get parking early? That sounds like a smart option.
The ticket office was great. I gave them a call and told them I'd be coming with a little guy and they guided me well on where to sit so he'd be able to see. I will be in Section C about midway up.
