Observations from the glass

Post by BGDrew »

My seats last night were right beside the BG bench. Here's just a few random things I noticed:

1) Pooch never really gets excited about anything. After the first goal he did a little fist pump then started talking to a few players on the bench.

2) Horrell looks like he just loves the atmosphere of BG. Everytime the PP cheer happened he would just look at the student section, laugh, and shake his head. I think I even saw him mouthing the words to A-Z-Z.

3) WMU is a lot bigger than we are. They got some big guys but not much speed.

4) Sometimes the refs just looked totally lost.

I think a lot of the teams we play are bigger than us. I definitely noticed that at OSU and Michigan. I kind of expected them to be big. To hear that WMU out-sizes us is surprising. We more than make up for the lack of size with speed, stick-handling, goaltending and freshmen!

Exactly, WMU had a guy that was easily 6'8" w/o skates. He was extremely lethargic with no puck handling skills.

I think that was #20? He seemed to be WMU's goon, trying to start fights with anybody and everybody. In fact, that seemed to be his sole purpose on the ice.

You mean there was times the refs weren't lost??? Remember, coming out of the locker room doesn't count.
