During Preliminary Voting fans may cast one ballot per day for their first-,
second- and third-place choices for the Hobey Baker Award, with points
awarded on a 5, 3, 1 basis. The fans' tally will be combined with the votes
of the 58 Division I head coaches to determine the 10 finalists for the
award.
Final Voting, in which fans can cast one ballot for their top three choices
among the finalists, will take place from Thursday, March 17, through
Monday, March 28. The results of the fan vote will be counted, along with
the votes of the Hobey Baker Selection Committee, to determine the
recipient of this year's award.
The 2005 Hobey Baker Award winner will be announced April 8 in
Columbus, Ohio, the day before the championship game at the NCAA
Frozen Four. The Hobey Baker Memorial Award is celebrating its 25th
season of honoring college hockey's top player.
