Let's cut to the chase...

Friday:
BG 5
UM 4

Sat:
BG 3
UM 5

I like how Friday feels with the "Senior night" and the Hobey theme. Saturday will be ugly as Michigan will need the win to wrap of the CCHA title (I believe especially if OSU sweeps Miami). Sigalet gets to rest and the Falcons polish their skills and try not to get hurt.

Okay, here's mine......

Frankly I think we get beat quite soundly as we have been lately by Michigan. Were just not at their level yet. Were probably 2-3 years away from being able to consistently scare the living daylights out of the Wolverines with wins against them. If we get just one tie , I'll consider that a great acomplishment, especially with us being picked to finish 9th. I know I'm inducing flames allaround but thats just the way I see it. I definitly hope for the best against Michigan, and would love for us to sweep them, but no matter how much passion you have for our Falcon hockey team , thats not going to happen. Our best bet for a win would be the game at home against them. If Michigan happens to come in very flat and comits penleties galore, who knows. :-\

GO FALCON HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BEAT MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :supz:

We came up short tonight 4-1. There was a great crowd on hand ... I think they said 4,600 and change. We came out and played lights out in the first period and went into the first intermission tied at 1-1. In the second and third periods, Michigan really stepped it up defensively and we just could not get anything going on offense. We got some good looks at the goal, but not many, and when we did get some looks, Montoya came up with some big saves. Falcon Fanatic can add her expertise to this as I am sure she has some observations on tonight's game.

It was a tough loss, but the future is bright, and this program is vastly ahead of where it was a few years ago. Give Coach Paluch a couple more recruiting classes and we will be right there with them. We have home ice for the CCHA Playoffs for the first time since 1995.

Special thanks to Falcon Fanatic for intro'ing us to George McPhee, Brian Holzinger, Jordan and Jonathan Sigalet, and Mr. and Mrs. Sigalet. For those of you who have just started following Falcon Hockey, George McPhee and Brian Holzinger are former Falcon Hockey Players who won the Hobey Baker Award (the Heisman Trophy in college hockey, if you will). Holzinger is playing in the NHL now (when they play again), and George McPhee is a successful executive in the NHL, he's the President and GM of the Washington Capitals. BG's rich history and tradition takes a back seat to no one.

Also thank you FF for taking pictures of us with these guys! It was a fabulous night of college hockey at the BGSU Ice Arena, despite the final score. Maybe our guys can go up to Ann Arbor tomorrow night and get a couple of points! GO FALCON ICERS!
