Goalie recruit?

I've heard mention of a great goalie recruit that is supposed to be coming in next year. Last night in the post-game show I hear Coach Fogarty allude to a "suprise" in net next year and leave it at that. There is no goalie listed in our recruiting lists for next year.

So, who is this mythical figure? Does anyone have any info. on him?

P.S. - this thread is a part of my ongoing campaign to never let traffic in this forum die! :D

Jimmy Spratt - Sioux City Musketeers
If it's someone else, that would be a surprise.

Well, this page makes it seem like it is indeed Jimmy Spratt:

To be putting up a .918 winning percentage in the USHL says a lot about this kid's talent. The USHL is an awesome developmental league. I believe that is where we got Christie, among several others. Even if Spratt doesn't pan out for next year, Horrell has proven himself as an excellent goalie (in my mind) this year.

That all being said, I feel comfortable in speculating that no goalie will ever do as much for Falcon hockey as Jordan has done during his career. He has been phenomenal, and I am not entirely convinced that he can't come back next year. I know, I know. His eligibility is done, but I can dream, can't I?

I don't know guys, I think Horrell did a great job in net when he was called upon. I just think he needs a little more game time and he can be a solid net-minder.

Watch out for this team next year.

On a side note, I'm willing to bet that we haven't seen the last of Jordan in the BGSU Ice Arena. Maybe not playing, but he will be back. Jonathon still has two years of eligibility left. I can also see the MS Awareness Weekend becoming an annual event.

:D Sioux City, isn't that where CCHA all Rookie defenseman Michael Hodgson came from? Of course it is. Wasn't Mr. H also first team All USHL and USHL top defenseman last year as well as his team MVP and an All Star? Why, yes he was. Now that I've got that out of my system, I've watched Jimmy Spratt play a lot of games and he is going to step right in and be a GREAT goalie for BGSU next year. The USHL is THE development league for NCAA Div 1 teams.

Well ziggity, please excuse my egregious lack of knowledge about the history of all of our players.

I was able to find this:

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospect.php?pid=3984

It hasn't been updated in a while, but this kid sounded pretty good even a year ago. He also looks a bit like Cole Magner, for whatever that may be worth.

I also ran across this:

I'm not sure if his given name is coach or if that is some USHL thing, but if it is his first name I forsee us having some fun with it!

Weird....

More pro hockey players come out of major juniors than college...although college is catching up.

In the context of that website, Jimmy is a coach of younger players.
Nice to know that sort of thing exists. It's very noticeable that hockey players are always happy to talk to younger kids about the game.

Yeah, there was this kid named Sigalet that was drafted out of juniors before he came to Bowling Green.

Go back to the basketball thread, please.

Jordan Sigalet, the goalie, is a senior. His yonger brother, Jonathan, who is a defenseman, is a sophmore. Hopefully, we will have Jonathan for two more years!!!

GO HOCKEY!!!

The NHL has cancelled this year's draft, so I think we'll be OK.

If the league is serious about playing next year with replacements, it could be tough for the colleges. Kids that were already drafted but staying in might find the temptation of a few more dollars and a direct route to the NHL a bit too tempting
