Way to go Jordan. I had no doubts that you would win this award this year. We are so proud of you.

Congrats Jordan! I sincerely hope that the Hobey Baker voting goes favorably for him too.

On a side note, after reading the article, is there anything Mike Illiach doesn't have his hands in??? Owns the Wings, owns the Tigers, owns Cesars Pizza, owns about half of downtown Detriot, and presents a CCHA award? What doesn't he do??

I was curious if some of the newer BG fans knew the importance of the Terry Flanagan award or even who Terry was. And I think I'm right but isn't Jordan the first one from BG to win this award???

Terry was an assistant coach along with Buddy Powers when Jerry York was our coach. Terry died from a brain tumor after an lengthy and brave fight against the disease. He was an inspiration to the players as well as the fans. The CCHA set up an award in his honor for the player who had overcome great odds to play hockey. I think it is fantastic that Jordan was chosen for this award.

Doug Schueller won it 4 years ago.

Before it was a CCHA award, it was presented 3 times to the "most courageous player" at BG, as a "team award". Winners were Ken Klee, AJ Plaskey and Jeff Elvin.

I did not know that. Now that I found that out I think it is that much better that Jordan won the award. Thanks for the history lesson.

I had forgotten about Shu getting the award. Thanks for reminding us.
