I for one have voted, and gotten other falcon-atics to vote too.

I hate to say it, but I don't see us making up over a 1,000 votes in one day. There wasn't enough urgency behind the entire thing. On the other hand, some of the awards mystique died when it became an online fan vote.
We need to be better prepared to really push this over the top next time.

This really exposed how poor our sports marketing is.

This doesn't mean that Murphy won the Hobey. I think Siggy still has a pretty good chance at winning. I would love to know where Michigan Tech got 10,000 people to vote for their guy though!!!

Someone posted in another thread that his junior team put up a thing on their site so he got a ton of votes from Ft. Murray (I think, I forget where he played juniors).
I really, truly hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think Jordan will win, regardless of how the fan voting closes at the end of the day.

I tend to agree McConvey. He ended his career on a 5 game losing streak and we didn't win a home playoff game. I'm an amazing fan of Jordan, but he just didn't show that fire at the end of the season we're used to.

You have absolutely no idea as to what the Atheltic Department is sending out to the voters. Quit slamming the Athletic Department.

There was one mention of it in the Marketing and Communication e-mail, one which finds the trash of most who get it. There is an occasional sign here and there in select buildings. There is no mention of it on the Athletic web page unless you go to the hockey web page.
I'm sorry if you have some friends within that department, but our sports marketing could be better.

I don't know what they're sending, but I know it's not working.
And no, that is not a slam on the department, just a statement of fact.
I know I sound awfully negative on this thread. I apologize for that.

Take a look at what I wrote - READ MY WORDS (best imitation of George Bush 41 I can do).
I said TO THE VOTERS - never mentioned to you or me or to the general public. Who votes for the award (outside of the 1 vote coming from the Internet)? Better to target the people that are going to do the voting.

My apologies, I just wish they would have led a larger campaign on campus.

So is the fan vote the final say, or are there other elements to the award voting not being spoken of here?

There are 10 members on the final selection committe. It is my understanding that the fan vote counts as one vote as does each member of the committe.
