Arizona doesn't suck (as much as I thought it would)!

I have found out several new things about hockey at UofA that make me very, very happy:

(1) UofA has a club hockey team called the Ice Cats that play at the Tucson Convocation Center. They are pretty popular here from what I am told, as well.

(2) It only costs $4 for tickets.

(3) Because they play at a public facility, you can buy beer there!

Is it sad that I'm most excited about that last point?

Possibly the coolest thing ever: Willie Nelson was the honorary captain of the Icecats last year! :D

I have to find an Arizona sweater with a cactus on it. That is very strange.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I'll certainly get you a puck (at least), and I may even try to actually fashion a hockey stick out of a real cactus for you!

You may laugh now, but when I actually do it...

I don't really know much about cacti, but I would imagine that if they're fibrous you could dry the pulp out and use it in a composite stick...

Yes, I know I bring y'all very, very important information on a daily basis. But if you want to try a good cactus drink in Arizona Bleeding, get the Prickly Pear Margaritas at the Phoenician. I spent 3 glorious days there on depos and they are worth the splurge!!!
