There will be a whole feature on Jordan Sigalet in the BG News tomorrow (Friday). I was glad to see something hockey wise in the paper for once this year while I was laying out the sports section. I didn't really get to read the story so I can't really say much about it besides read it! I will edit and post a link up here when it gets uploaded to the BG News site later.

Thanks for letting us know! I will be sure and swing by the campus and pick up a few copies! Jordan is a FANTASTIC young man who happens to be a FANTASTIC goalie.....legit Hobey Candidate? I think so!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

OK, I read the article.
It's too bad the journalism students don't work as hard during the off-season as the athletes do.
From the poorly structured first sentence,(how does one burn rubber with wild blonde hair?) this is a poor effort.
EVen though it was about my favorite player in my favorite sport, bad is bad.

All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Some of these kids are just starting work there. In other words, they might only be in their 3rd week of journalism. Also, for the reports that have been around a long time, they still get paid very low...I'm talking $30 or less every 2 weeks. I'm not saying hey, money should not be a factor in your writing. But if you aren't getting paid squat to do something, usually you won't put as much into it. It is harder than you might realize getting a student run newspaper out 5 times a day so sometimes I just think people need to cut the BG News some slack. I am not trying to start an arguement because I will agree, that is poorly written. I just that since a lot of us do care about how the paper looks and put a lot of time into it, I don't want one persons work to ruin the whole paper if that makes sense.bgbill wrote:OK, I read the article.

It's actually one of the core values of the university.
