Merrimack the real story.

Post by FalconBlue »

After going 8-26-2 last season overall and 1-22-1 in Conference, Merrimack made the necessary coaching changes over the Summer. The result is a much improved team. The are still some way from being a top Hockey East team but with the parity in the league Merrimack should do better than o4/05.
The Merrimack goalie Jim Healey was undoubtedly the STAR of the game stopping 45 of 47 shots.

BC will be a test tonight.
If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back now and then to make sure it's still there.

Their goalie was definately the player of the game last night. He positioned himself well and stoned us all night.

47 shots?

Boy, to heck with losing that game! If we can put that much lead on a goalie consistently...wow. The possibilities are...endless...

*edit (Rightupinthere)*

When you throw 47 shots on a goalie and only get it past him twice, it means two things:

(1) We are generating a TON of offensive opportunities, and

(2) The opposing goalie had a career game.

One game into the season and you are already writing off the team until next season? *edit*

Whats so *edit* thinking we just arent' good enough yet to beat BC? I didnt' say the season was over. Seems alot of less talented teams than us are having goalies that happen to have stellar games against us. Maybe Merrimack is better than last year , but I fully expected us at home to take care of buisiness. Do we need better technique on our slapshots or somthing? So many I heard bout were going wide. Oh , well better "luck" next time cuz it seems hockey is bout alot of that.

i am with bleeding on this one. i am not a huge hockey fan but i do understand the game. to get 47 shots on goal is pretty damn impressive. do you expect to convert half of those?
the goalie for merrimack was a stud. there is nothing BG could do about that except maybe play a little dirtier and try and get away with some interference. but that's not they way they play. they created a lot of opportunites and the goalie stopped them. it's as simple as that.

Merrimack was 8-26-2 last season overall and 1-22-1 in Conference...bottom line you have to beat a team like this at home..period.

Agreed. If we were playing them LAST SEASON. Now, maybe if they finish with a similar record at the end of this season, we can look back and figure we let one slip away, but from everything I've heard about the game, we were outplayed by one guy on Merrimack's roster, the important one between the pipes.

yes, if you use firefox there is an extension that should work and allow you to ignore posters on any forum. However I am starting to find more humor in the "less intelligent" posts, so I feel I would miss something good by ignoring others
