Spratt is not our goalie. Horrell held his own against BC, and it seems like he's more of a gamer than Spratt. Please for the love of God, give Horrell more ice time. He's a Senior and ready to be a starter.

Maybe this was just a case of trying to get back on the horse? After getting shelled by BC maybe they wanted him to get between the pipes and regain confidence.
Tonight I think Spratt was hung out to dry a few times, having trouble recalling specific goals.
Im a Falcon fan for life, but to me tonight it just didn't seem like the passion or heart was in the game, especially after starting out behind early. We have to come to the rink every night to compete, last year it seemed like we liked to play 2 out of 3 periods each game. Now it seems to be a game by game basis on who's going to show up.
I'd imagine a Thursday night game may throw off the routine too making it a little harder to focus.
Here's hoping for a different result tomorrow night at the Schott! Go Falcons. 8)

I think I would prefer to have Coach Paluch make the decision who is the best goalie, and who will start each game!!!

I think BGDrew can choose the goalie. At least he knows the names of all the players. I can't imagine how it feels to have Some Person call you You. We've spent over two months together 2-3 hours a day and I'm just a You!!
I refer you to the remarks of Chris Pedota at the last awards banquet and I'll leave you with this: On the avenues of life, Respect is a two-way street.

And maybe Spratt is a great goalie in practice, but he seems to be out of place a lot during the games. It's just my opinion but I believe Horrell is a much better goalie at this point in the season. As soon as last nights game was over Spratt slammed his stick into the side of the net, and was visibly pissed off. Goalie's should have the worst short term memory on the ice, and I think that's something Sigalet had that Spratt doesn't have yet.
Fact: BG has outshot every team it's played this season.

Must agree with BGDrew. Goalie Sigalet didn't play at all his 1st year and OSU's goalie sat for two years before he played. Spratt might be the future, but let's play in the present. Horrell has worked his A** off for this team.

Having Jimmy as one of my friends here on campus as he lives on the floor below me, I know him pretty well. To give a kid who's been thrown to the fire against 2 of the top teams in the nation no chance to prove himself is pretty shallow. As a former goaltender in high school and having goaltending passed down to me through my father and brother, I can tell you that Jimmy last night had no help on every goal but the first. If the BG defense keeps backing in and giving teams respect, they're gonna walk all over our goalies, no matter who it is.
Give Jimmy a chance, he played for Sioux City which is an excellent USHL team. He's only a freshman, he will mature. He and this team will play to their potential, these things take time. The expectations from last year are high, we all know that, we're 3 games in with only one league game. Support the team and give it time.
Go Falcons!
Spratt or Horrell.............

Since Spratt has been our so called star of last years recruiting class I've thought that Spratt should be the man since he's gonna have to be the guy next year anyway. Horrell I'm not sold on and definilty not Frazee. Spratt is probably the more talented goalie anyway , but whoever is in there needs decent help form the other 5 guys. Our overall D doesn't look too good. But then again we were playing #3 Ohio St., we just aren't up their level yet. Its still going to be a while before we can just take on a #3 team and think we can likley beat them just cuz their on our ice. Like Metzger likes to say , baby steps people. A couple more good recruiting classes and a solid goalie and defense and we'll get there eventually.

Problem is, he faced 29 shots. I expect a goalie at the collegiate level to be able to face about 30 shots a night and stop 27, 28, 29 of them. Out of 29, he stopped 22.
All I'm saying is play Horrell tonight and see what he can do.

Or for falconboy! No pads, gloves or cups are allowed in the tryout!
I know that Spratt is the future, and by all signals so far (at least in his junior career), he'll be a stud. But to drop him in net for his first two collegiate games against top five teams is a pretty big task to drop on anyone. I'm all for him getting minutes, but the coaches could probably have been a little more selective in where he saw that time, it seems.

Yeah, you don't want to see me doing a Butterfly. I'd be more of a Stand-Up goalie...

I gave you the credit of just bolding the key part, and posting most of your comments around it, because there are some decent points there, but I think a 2-2 tie on the road after the beating we took last night proves that we can play anywhere. Matsumoto hits a post in OT, or we could be WOOHOO-ing an early season win over a hated rival (and one of the top teams in the country.)
So, as to the sentence right after the bolded one, I think a tie on the road while giving up 40-ish shots means that we don't have to wait for "eventually" to beat OSU ANYWHERE.
As for the giving up 40 shots, that needs to be fixed from a defensive standpoint, but I think stopping all but two of them should put more than a few of the doubts you have about Horrell to rest.
