You know, in hindsight, I was listening to that game last night (GO CANES!) and didn't even think twice when they said Raycroft was slow to get up after a save.

Good luck Jordan!!!

BOSTON- As the Bruins prepare to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight on the TD Banknorth Garden ice, six players took part in the morning skate. Strength and Conditioning Coach John Whitesides ran practice, doing a series of shooting drills for the five skaters and one goalie who participated.

The goalie on the ice happened to be tonight's starter, Hannu Toivonen. Toivonen is excited about his second start and hopefully, will help his team turn their luck around against Northeast Division foes.

"It's a big night for the team. We've been struggling a bit and it's time to start to move up," said tonight's starter, Hannu Toivonen. "It's not lack of effort in these losses, we just have to keep working hard. That's the main thing. We need to move forward and we're going to get some wins if we keep our work ethic up, that's for sure. I'm excited to play tonight. It's a good chance to play well and hopefully I help my team."

The other five skaters who practiced this morning were Patrice Bergeron, Alex Zhamnov, Colton Orr, Jiri Slegr, and Shawn McEachern.

Zhamnov seems to be improving everyday. He's working hard trying to get his stamina back and said as soon as he feels 100 percent he'll be back in the lineup.

"It's frustrating when you can't be out there to help your teammates, especially being on a new team, but I'm getting close and I'm looking forward to it," said Alex Zhamnov. "Everyday it's getting better and better so I'm looking forward to getting back with my teammates."

Jiri Slegr, who just returned from a back injury, dressed for last night's game but saw a limited amount of shifts. He feels good and hopes to have a better game tonight and keep improving.

"So far so good, I woke up this morning with no pain so hopefully it stays good," said defenseman Jiri Slegr. "With back problems you never know, but to this point I feel good and hope that will continue."

General Manager Mike O'Connell announced today that goaltender Andrew Raycroft suffered a strained hamstring in last night’s game in Carolina and will be out of the lineup on a day-to-day basis. Goaltender Jordan Sigalet has been called up from Boston's AHL affliate, the Providence Bruins.

Tonight's contest will start at 7:00 p.m. at the TD Banknorth Garden, as the Bruins play host to the Maple Leafs. The game will be shown on NESN.

I HIGHLY doubt Jordan will play. It's very seldom a goalie gets pulled.

I'm listening to the pregame on Sirius radio and he isn't playing tonight...well he isn't starting.

I didn't expect him to play tonight, but I wanted a tape of the game that was his first game getting called up for! I am sure there were plenty of shots of him through out the warm up and the game. Glad to see they won!

Raycroft is expected to be out for "at least 5-7 days". The Bruins have three games in that span, but they're spaced out enough that they may go with the same goalie in all three. Hopefully that's not the case, and they give Jordan a go before Raycroft heals up!

(They play Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday, for those curious.)

Even if he dosen't get a chance to play this time up, the experience has just got to be invaluable.

I saw an article on line somewhere that said Jordan was the 31st former BG player to make it to the NHL. I had just done a review of the "internet hockey database", and had come up with 29 (before Jordan)...I'll buy a beer at the Falcon Club lounge for the first person who can tell me who's missing from this list: Don Barber, Rob Blake, Aris Brimanis, Dan Bylsma, Gino Cavallini, Kevin Dahl, Greg DeVries, Iain Duncan, Dave Ellett, Nelson Emerson, Todd Flichel, Garry Galley, Brett Harkins, Brian Holzinger, Mike Johnson, Ken Klee, Mike Liut, Brian MacLellen, John Markell, George McPhee, Ken Morrow, Mike Natyshak, Greg Parks, Marc Potvin, Sean Pronger, Peter Ratchuk, Keith Redmond, Todd Reirdon, Paul Ysebaert.
