It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan

Get more wins.....
Thats all that the boys can do to get some votes in the poll. We've just gotten our first wins of the season this past week after going winless and a tie in our other games. Give it time. We haven't done anything yet to deserve votes in a poll yet. Gosh if football had a record similier in kind would we football fanatics be demanding votes for the Top 25?? :-\ If we keep winning we'll get our due eventually.

Re: Get more wins.....
This isn't the issue. I don't think anyone is clamoring for votes in ranking polls (just yet), but the fact that two teams who are winless (or close to it) in the CCHA, not to mention far BELOW us in the conference standings is what is galling here. You can make a case for OSU to be getting votes (but not nearly as many as they are getting) simply because they had such preseason hype, but UNO? Come on. We made UNO look silly last weekend and even their own fans are prepping themselves for a leap off of a tall building (RE: www.mavpuck.com ). For them to be getting votes is beyond ridonkulous.falconboy wrote:Thats all that the boys can do to get some votes in the poll. Well, alot of these teams that you think shouldn't be getting votes based on their play this year are maybe living off their success last year and the preseason hype for this year. We did't light up any hype fires after last years end to the season, so it might be understandable why we arn't in on those hype votes. Its kinda the same for football. Gosh we couldn't get in the preseason Top 25 in football even though we had Omar back and winning a bowl game last year.Bleeding Orange wrote:This isn't the issue. Good Post. The whole mindset of the NCAA hockey community is so totally different than the BCS crap that football has to exist within. There is little or no comparison on any level to football and never will be.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Stop comparing hockey to football. The 2 have absolutely no relation to each other. The beef is legit. A team we just smushed should not be getting any votes unless we are also. No matter how much negative spin you put on the team, you can't intelligently argue against that.
GO HOCKEY!!
SWEEEEEEEEEEP THE IRISH!!!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
