From the article at
www.uscho.com they said
"Also missing from the game was leading goal scorer for Bowling Green, Jonathan Matsumoto. The sophomore did not play this weekend due to a violation of team rules."
Anyone know what he did and when he'll be back? Thanks a lot, and go Icers!

He'll probably be out this weekend as well.
The only information out is a violation of team rules, and those who know what that violation was (like me), probably aren't going to say what it was. Right now the best thing to do is support the team, because Matsu will be back eventually.

Can you comment (yes or no) on whether there will be or are legal repricussions?

you know what, the team and university consider this a private matter so nobody wants to say what it is and I will respect that, but I can understand that to some people that makes it seem like it's a great big deal or scandal that they are trying to keep a lid on. I can assure you it's nothing like that. It's so minor I wish someone would say something just to clear his name. I personally know Mattsy and he is a fine young person. He is a credit to his family and to BGSU and to his team. End of story.

It's a personal matter, not a team/university one.
Good grief.....

We don't need this. I heard about Matso not playing the OSU serioius but didn't realize he would be out longer.

We really played well beating OSU without Matso's services that weekend. Imagine if we had him in the lineups.

Ummmm..........he is gonna be back in the lineup friday night. I dunno who said he is gonna be out longer. And no one knows anything about what went on. Mats is a great kid and a hell of a hockey player.

Gosh I sure hope so. Matso's way too talented to not have playing if we can help it.

It doesn't matter how talented you are, RULES ARE RULES! Whether you're the most talented player or the least talented, you all follow the same rules.

And that's the way it SHOULD be. And Paluch wouldn't treat it any other way, thankfully.

Not going to get into a "no you don't!" argument, but I do know what happened and was just going off what I was told. Sorry if that offended you.

NOT TRUE...This is a TEAM matter, and is being handled privately. Moto knows why he's suspended...the other players know, but they won't say, nor
should they...if they did, they'd be violating rules themselves.
Whether he's back or not...let's pack the house friday and kick some bronco butt.

Thank you for being the voice of reason here. Rumors run rampant when anything like this happens to a well known athlete. For Jonathan's sake, I am sure there will be lessons learned and personal growth. Time to get back to discussing the upcoming games this weekend!!
GO FALCONS!!
SMACK THE BRONCOS!!
