shorter schedule?

Post by BGSUfanatUT »

Whats up with the lack of OOC gmaes this year? Union and Wayne st.....thats it other than the Dartmouth tourney. and only 34 games this season. Is there a reason we are playing less? Or did we just not schedule all we could have? I would think that we would schedule as many games as possible....we dont even play findlay.

Not that its that big of a deal, but we could have a few more weekends of falcon hockey in there, and we dont, so that makes me upset. I want to see Minn-Duluth here in BG soon. Maybe some western schools too. I doubt they would complain about playing BG as we are rich with history, and coming back to power.

.....I had to go to a safety meeting and watch a film about road rage.....b/c I drive so much doing CAD... I cant remember what I was typign now, so Ill just post it now.

on a side not, the film showed the leading causes for death in the US, to emphasis how high vehicle accidents was on the list, but the film was made about 70 years ago, I'm pretty sure I saw Dysentary on the top 10 list.

Not sure, but, outside of the Christmas break, it looks like we only have one weekend open on the schedule (1/14, 1/15) which isn't bad. It may have something to do with how the Christmas break falls this year.

As for Findlay, they dropped their program at the end of last seaon. It could be that they were originally scheduled for that open weekend and it was too late to reschedule it.

DUH! I knew that, dirty findlay.....

Just seems odd that the schedule can have 4-6 games less than previous seasons.

I only counted 2 fewer REGULAR season games than last year. Don't forget about the post season...

The NCAA guidelines allows for a 34 game regular season such as we have this year. If you play games in the state of Alaska, you are able to play 36 games. Since we play Fairbanks at home, we play a 34 game schedule.

I am looking forward to this season big time. I know that the coaching staff is excited about the upcoming season. I just hope that we have found more scoring to go with our hard work, improved team defense, and outstanding goaltending.

The teams that travel to Alaska Fairbanks and Anchorage play the two extra games. It is one of the perks provided to teams so that they will make the trips to play those two teams. I believe that the Alaska schools still provide the expenses to the schools that travel to play them.

Go BG!
