BG stays with 3 votes in the AP poll and 5 votes in the coaches poll.
With 3 (assuming St Joe's) very tough games coming up, we'll have a chance to really turn some heads.

the Poll for this week on USA Today is not the same one they are showing on ESPN. For week 8 (dec 26-Jan 1) ESPN/USA today has BG receiving 4 votes, BUT BG has moved up to 36th from 39th. I think the poll listed on the USA today site is last weeks, but with today's date. UK is getting 3 votes now, Delaware is getting 1 and Saint Joe's isn't getting any in the ESPN/USA today poll, on ESPN.

The UK women's program has not been as strong as the men's program. Tennessee has consistently dominated the conference and not allowed anyone to surface for air, except for maybe LSU. UK is a respectable women's program that had a rough time from '95-'03. As per UK last season, they were rewarded with a NIT bid last season. The program has been getting better under Coach Mickie DeMoss ('03-'05). DeMoss was an assistant with Pat Summit for 18 years before coming to UK, so she knows how to coach. With all of this said, if BG was to beat UK, the name recognition alone of UK should help BG in the eyes of the national media.falconboy wrote:Wow! I can't believe UK has only 2 votes in one of these polls. When I think Kentucky basketball I think prenniel Top 25 team but maybe its just the men's side that makes me think the ladies have been that good. I guess UK's last season wasnt so good and maybe didn't even get in the NCAA's. Thats probably why there slow to get votes as opposed to us.
