Softball off to a quick start!!

Post by Falconfreak90 »

BG moves to 4-0 with 2 more wins today at the Panera Challenge in Chattanooga, Tenn.

In the first game, Soph Emily Gouge threw 6 scoreless innings and Frosh Hayley Wiemer mowed 'em down 1-2-3 in the 7th as the Falcons beat Maine 1-0.

Wiemer picked up the win in game 2, a 6-3 victory over UAB. Gina Rango belted 2 HR's (she has 3 already on the season) & Frosh Wendy Sheehan had a 3 run double. It's great to see the young players stepping up early and often! Rango is gonna have another monster year as a Senior. BG will play 2 games tomorrow to finish up the weekend against East Tenn State and Belmont.

Next weekend BG travels to Waco, TX, for the Compass Bank Invitational hosted by Baylor. The Falcons will face Baylor, Washington and Mississippi State...playing each team twice. Those are big name teams from power conferences and it would be awesome to go into that weekend 6-0!

GO BEEG!

Dam, it sounds like the softball team is hitting their stride right off the bat. I hope they can keep this up and stay undefeated for a while.
