What does the women's success mean to the BGSU community?

Post by Bleeding Orange »

I have been thinking about this of late. It really seems to me that for a team of this caliber, community support for them has been somewhat lacking. I mean, when is the last time that either BGSU hoops squad was ranked nationally? I seriously don't know? In my mind, a national ranking is not only good for the school, but good for the local community.

So what exactly does their success, that in all likelihood will continue for the foreseeable future, mean to the BGSU and BG community? Having not been around very much this year I honestly have no clue and am curious to see what others think. I also think it would be constructive to compare people's opinions on this matter.

Random question, but it is late, and my mind is spinning like a top trying to avoid going to bed at 11:00 on a Friday...

MAtt- the mayor and his wife were at the game....there were several staff members - various vice presidents and others on the bus in. Sid and Paula were there. Community people were on the bus going to watch. We had quite the group. Cole Magner and Rhett !

It will remain to be seen on the long term effect. I will keep you posted and see what goes on.

But I am just looking at the Kent State men's game crowd and I am saying "where were they for the women?" We so had more people than Kent.

AAF,

Thanks for giving Jake that "popsicle stick" Falcon. That was some game today! GREAT showing of ORANGE in the house. Had a chance to rap with Cole after the game. He's doing well and on his way to Atlanta next week....back with the Falcons. :D Good to see current football players there for all 3 games as well.

I think the women's team is building quite a following....let's keep it up in the NCAA's.

They sure have me hooked! I want to go to the NCAA games SO bad. It's gonna take a lot to keep me away.
Any idea where they'll play? Or should I just be patient... :D
