Softball Recruiting

Is there any news on who the softball team will be or has signed to play at BG for next season?

I imagine we'll start hearing some things as the summer rolls on and fall arrives. I'm not sure how the recruiting game is played with softball.

I went looking for info on the timelines for NCAA softball recruiting, and this was the best I could find:

Apparently "early signing" begins in November and "late signing" begins in April. I've not been able to track down the termination of the signing period. Interestingly, though, I found a TON of websites dedicated to "assisting" prospective athletes in the recruiting process. I have to admit that I am kind of suspicious about this, as it really sounds as though athletes are, in effect, signing agents to help them, but I have not really looked into any of them to any great degree, so I could be off base in my assesment. Do a google search with the term "NCAA softball recruiting" and you will see what I've seen.

Adding staff can only strengthen the program and help recruiting and player development.

It is especially interesting, in that baseball only has two (2) full time coaches and they have 30-35 on their roster, while softeball will have three (3) with only 15-20 on their roster. This Title IX stuff is WAY out of hand!!!
i.e. Softball went to three umpires a few years back, only for the reason that baseball uses three. The difference is that softball is palyed on 60' bases and three umpires practically run into each other, while baseball is played on 90' bases and three umpires are actually needed to properly cover the field.

Softball is a much quicker game than baseball and needs more eyes than just two Umps.

Easy partner, Title IX has been a life-send for a lot of young women.

Baseball should absolutely have 3 full time coaches as well given the roster numbers.
