I knew she was hurt, but this was the first I've seen the length confirmed in print -- from BG's website:
"Junior Whitney Taylor suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in practice on Dec. 26, and is likely out for the remainder of the season ... Taylor played in nine of BGSU's first 10 games of the year, averaging 3.1 points and 12.2 minutes per game ... a wing player, she also played several minutes at the point-guard position in the UT-Arlington game and did not commit a turnover. "
That's too bad -- she's struggled to understand the scheme since she's been here, and it looked like she finally may have been turning the corner. Hopefully she can come back strong since we'll need her next year.
Good luck Whit.

Ed and I talked to Pam and Dave Sunday after the game and unfortunately Whit has already played in too many games this season so she can't get a medical redshirt. They had just talked to the surgeon and the plan is for her to have her surgery in a couple weeks. Between Whit and her brother, Austin, they will have had 4 knee surgeries. Whit blew up her other knee during soccer her sophmore year of HS and her brother blew up the same knee twice during collage lacrosse. She has already been working with the training staff to rehab, she has been riding the bike and she didn't even need her cruthces at the game Sunday. Whit is one tough cookie so I'm sure she will bounce back from this injury without any problem.

For the severity of the injury, I sure couldn't see it in her demeanor on Wednesday at Akron. What I could see, and what was sad, though, was frustration. It was easy to see that she wanted to be out there with her team, and that is unbelievably admirable. I look forward to her return to the lineup next year - she has shown some potential, in my opinion, and I think her will alone will make her a valuable asset to this team next year.

If they keep winning by 30, those freshmen are going to have tons of experience come tourney time.Flipper wrote:I think Sarah Clapper is going to be a good player here...she doesn't look like a freshman out there, but I'd prefer to have a smart JR like Whit on the floor in March.
