I guess the defense for Wisconsin could answer that---165 yards later with no passing threat whatsoever. I was trying to make sense of what has happened to our attendance this year for the men and I think I have finally figured it out. They are now going to watch Miller and Co. which is great but, man, I know the men could use some support, too! You need support when you are losing just as much as when you are winning. When you are losing, you find out who really is backing the program.
First off, nobody's "making fun" of our record ATS. I was making fun of you for using our ATS record over the last 11 years to defend a coach who's been in charge for 4. Just like people make fun of you for defending your "Freddie Barnes should be the QB because he ran good against Wisconsin" argument. It's ridiculous, and you never address the counter arguments. Like half of his yardage came on the first drive when Wisky was obviously not ready for what we were running. Or that he did nothing throwing the ball, which is kind of what QBs need to be able to do. You just chant the same crap over and over, and it sounds dumber and dumber every time you do.

Secondly, to the point you're hamfistedly trying to make -- I don't think many people are saying to themselves "I'm not going to watch the men anymore because I'm watching the women instead." The two teams are never in direct competition in home games, and our tickets are so cheap that few are being financially forced to choose one or the other.

People have stopped coming to watch the men because it just isn't fun anymore. The die-hards are still there, but casual fans are not going to go through the trouble of watching a bad team play boring basketball. It has very little to do with the success of the women's team IMO. That might influence an average of 50 people a game -- not 1000.

In any event, even if some people around here decided to choose the women to support over the men, that's a far better stance than hoping and predicting the women's program to fall apart so that men's attendance will go up, and ridiculing fellow falcons for their long overdue support of the best current BG program, which is where you've been positioning yourself.

Grow up.
