Love those shirts as well.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Sville does bring up a good point. There are many at Anderson who are opposed to us standing during games. I think its funny whenever students break out their BG Warrior T-shirts that say "if you can't see, stand up" on the back. Some people must really take offense to that.
If the arena people could do something to better separate the students from the families/older crowd, etc, that's probably the best thing to do. The lower end of the east stands, from what I've seen in the past, is probably about 75-80% students, so if we could just get the other 20-25% to sit in their own section via ticket sales, perhaps in the southeast corner, that would go a long way to solve this problem.

Not trying to start any trouble--but I am one of those "older fans"--i.e., not a student. My husband and I have been to every home game and always sit just to the right of half court in the "student section". We have no problem in standing and cheering and sometimes early in the season were getting really p.o.'d at the students who did bother to show up and just sit there and talk.
We don't want to be relegated to the "southeast corner" or somewhere else. We want to be across from the BG team bench, near center court, where we can see all of the action. At the UT game, we made many fans sitting above us angry because we stood up--some of them were TU fans, so that made it even sweeter.
Don't sterotype all "older fans" as a bunch of complainers. We don't like it--this teams needs all of the fans, including those of us who have stuck with BG women's BB throught the Fran Voll, Jaci Clark and god help us Deann Knoblauch years.
So, go ahead and stand and cheer, you might be surprised at who will be joining you.

I understand, but you & your husband seem to be in the minority of older fans. I know there are some older fans who are get loud, heck the "yell BG!" lady is the best of em , but there are very few of you out there, most of your type are just sitting like there at an auditorium listening to a classical symphony.nwofalconfan wrote:Not trying to start any trouble--but I am one of those "older fans"--i.e., not a student.
