The three sites that publish RPI rankings, collegeRPI.com, realtimerpi.com, and rpiratings.com, have our RPI at 20, 21, and 21, respectively. Also, our Sagarin rating, which takes point margin into account, has us bumped up to 18.
CollegeRPI.com has a projected RPI, which assumes every game from here on out will be won by the team with the higher RPI. It predicts we will end up at 21, before the conf tournament. Playing a couple good teams in Cleveland could probably bump us up to 20. That number would be right in line with the 5-6 seed predictions we've been seeing.
Chuckie Creme is having an ESPN chat at 3 today. I'll probably send him a couple questions regarding seeding.

Charlie's new bracket is up. He has us as a rising 5 seed playing Washington in L.A. I'm really pulling for E. Lansing as our destination. That would be sweet. Especially if it's the E. Lansing pod that flows into Dayton. Double-sweet. The prospect of playing UNC in the sweet 16, not so sweet. I would love a 6 seed.

Jerry Palm's latest bracket had us back down to a falling 6 seed. Since he's been just having a blast alternating us between a rising 5 and falling 6 every bracket, even though we haven't lost in about 10 years, I'm pretty sure we'll be a rising 5 in tomorrow's edition.

Interesting Ball State is still in. If we meet BSU in the MAC Championship game, it looks like 2 MAC teams make it.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Charlie's new bracket is up. The committee does everything possible to avoid rematches in the first round, so I wouldn't expect anything like that. We'll probably get one of the last big schools to get in, like a Texas Tech or Kansas State, or we'll end up with a strong small-conference champion.Falcon30 wrote:AND...if we stay a 5, we could end up playing Delaware, who is currently an 11.
It would be very bad for the program, after all this hype and build up, to lose the first game this year with a lot of national eyes wondering if BG is "for real". On the other hand, if we can win a game or 2, or maybe even more if the cards fall right, we can really advance our standing. Exciting times. I really hope the opening round pod is close enough for me to get to. I had a blast in W. Lafayette last year, even though we lost.
