Awesome!!!
Ali wins the Co-Mac POY! That was good choice by the Mac to split it. I really didn't expect a Falcon to win POY award this year but Ali deserves it as much as anyone anyway. Flynn gets the obvious 6th Man Award. Next year we could see several freshman in the running for Mac Freshman of the Year Award.
Mid-2000's Anderson Animal
Congrats to all! Now go out and win the tourney(s)!!!!

I personally think its a joke. I know this stuff is supposd to be spread around and there alot of MAC teams, but come on.
Kate deserved to be on 1st team.
Carin and Liz are both 2nd teamers.
Amber is better than all of the post players on 3rd team and HM.
For a group of girls that dominate the league to a tune of 30something and 1 over the past 2 years, I don't think they got the recognition they deserve!

I agree with pardonfan, but when you add up their career honors, I think this senior class was approrpiately recognized.
Personally, I'd rather be 6th man than 3rd team or honorable mention -- there's only one 6th man.
Kate will get her due on the 1st team next season, and will be player of the year.

Amanda Jackson scored 20 ppg in MAC play, and Curt Miller said he thought Stephanie Raymond was the player of the year in the conference. As good as Kate is, It's a tough sell to put her ahead of those two.
I don't necessarily agree, but I haven't given it much thought. All 3 are probably close, but I have no problem with Kate getting second team.

I'd rather have the girls get shafted on the awards and go out and kill the opposition at the MAC tournament than have a lot of accolades and not do as well. If the girls are bummed about what award they got, they will use this a fuel to do well in the tourney. Cleveland should be fun. Let's go win the tournament because I can't wait so see them play for the championship on Saturday!!
GO FALCONS!!

Given how "team" oriented they all are, I seriously doubt if they are bummed out about individual awards. If anything, they might feel a particular teammate got less than they deserved. I've never seen a group of kids demonstrate the "team" concept better than these girls. Hats off to the coaching staff for building that into their program!!Falconfliccbone wrote:I'd rather have the girls get shafted on the awards and go out and kill the opposition at the MAC tournament than have a lot of accolades and not do as well. SWEEP THE TOURNEY!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
