FYI, according to MSU's website, adult tickets for the lower bowl for a single game are $25 and the upper bowl is $20. This is more than what I paid for the game at Purdue last year, but it is still not too bad. I just have to talk to the rest of my group to see if we want to go upper or lower.

Or you could just pretend you're a student and pay 15.

Not that I would ever do anything like this.

JUST WIN LADIES!!!

Post by buffo 95 »

First (since I don't post often), Congrats to the Lady Falcons!!

Second, being at work when the brackets were announced, I saw Greensboro, and Sunday at 2 PM, and was ready to buy my tickets. See, I live in Raleigh, NC and was so THERE...being off work on Sunday and all...

However, with the first two rounds being in E. Lansing, it's nice to know that the first two games will be virtual home games for us. That, and knowing that once we beat the Cowgirls and the Comodes they could come within 45 minutes driving time to face, what...Arizona St, Louisville, Mormons? I LOVE IT!!!

And being in the same bracket as Duke...beautiful. Although if you look at their (Duke's) travel for the tourney, they wouldn't have to leave the state until they come up to see (y'all) in Cleveland, and that's only if they don't have to face us. I don't want to put on my orange glasses on too soon, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

First thing first, BEAT THE COWPOKES!!!

You know the Freaks would love to be there but with our Florida trip 2 1/2 weeks away, our funds are pretty tied up right now. That and all the jack I spent at the MAC Tourney.

Those of you going....DO US PROUD! I know you will. The only bad thing about being in Florida from 3/30 to 4/5 is I'll have to watch BG win the whole damn thing on the tube!

So, if we get to Greensboro, I'll consider flying down. Maybe I'll drive. Doubtful. But I told myself if it was anywhere on the east coast, I'd go. So we'll see.

Just to mention something re: ticket availability on SUNDAY....when my (now) wife and I went to the NCAA's at Cleve. St., a LOT of tickets were being sold off by the fans of the team(s) that were eliminated on Saturday...they didn't want to stay around since their favorites were out of it, and there at least 25 or so people trying to sell off their tix as we approached CSU's arena.

Might be something to consider for some of you who are a bit short on cash...just wish we could go, but a serious family illness prevents us from going anywhere "distant".

I was surprised you guys were that low. I thought you would get at worst a 6-seed. No doubt, the RPI of the MAC hurt Bowling Green there. I thought George Washington would be a 4-seed.

Just count your blessings. You get another shot at a Duke team which is very much beatable should you advance far enough. We're stuck in by far the toughest regional in the tournament. But we do look forward to knocking out Ohio State in the 2nd round following a 1st round victory over Gonzaga.

I hope Middle Tennessee, George Washington, and Bowling Green all make it to the Sweet 16.

That doesn't make any sense, it's not like they have more than two teams in the tournament. I'm friends with the coaching staff at ULL and they really didn't expect to be in, so I am happy for them. BUT, why put them in the same region with Middle Tennessee? Secondly, how does Ohio State become a 4 seed? I understand that the Big Ten is down this year, but they did finish first in the conference, and had a great record. The winner of the conference should get at least a three seed in that conference. I'm not sure about Iowa State being ahead of us in the seeding either. They did have a few quality wins, mainly over A&M twice, and there is another big conference win that they had. I don't agree with the seed that we have either, but I think that it probably fits our chances of making it to the Sweet Sixteen better this way. Vanderbilt plays one of the two toughest conferences in the country, but they are beatable. OSU is not that great this year, and I really like the fact that we will have more fans there than they will. I don't like the fact that we are in the same bracket as Duke though. I know that we played them close in Cancun, but them losing to NC State is only going to make them hungrier and more focused. Oh well, it's that time of year again, and I can't wait for the first tip off.
Two things.

1. The committee's first priority in setting the bracket it to make sure two teams of the same conference cannot meet until a Regional Final (Elite 8) matchup. In the case of Middle Tennessee and Louisiana, the two schools are on opposite sides of the same regional. If they both were to meet each other, it would be in the Regional Final.

2. Ohio State probably should've been rated higher than 4th, but they lost to Purdue. I'm just not at all impressed with the Big 10 this year. That probably explains why they only got as many teams in the tournament as the Colonial Athletic Association. Michigan State lost by 40 to Maryland. Penn State, which deservedly did not make the field lost at home to Western Kentucky. The Big 10 is overrated from top to bottom. A team that did not deserve the 2-seed, was Purdue. Purdue is the most overrated team in the tournament. I fully expect them to be beaten before the Sweet 16. OSU, probably should've gotten at best a 3-seed, but it just paves the way for us to knock them out early being a 4-seed.

Conferences don't make the tournament, teams do. And OSU has to be evaluated on their body of work sans Hoskins.

Seriously, with Ohio State missing their best player so late in the season, I wouldn't put it past Marist to beat them. Penn State nearly bit them in the Big 10 Tournament and Penn State is awful! Is OSU is caught napping in the 1st round, Marist could knock them out. And it wouldn't be the first time a 4-seed was knocked out by a 13-seed.

Middle Tennessee as a 13-seed knocked out North Carolina in 2004--the 2nd time that's happened in history. Very next season, Liberty as a 13-seed seed knocked off Penn State who was seeded 4th.

One thing to note about Vanderbilt since you guys asked, they have the nation's best 3-point shooter in Caroline Williams. But they have a good inside game. Vandy is probably a 3-seed disguised as a 2-seed, just because of one game they played in the SEC tournament against LSU. Vandy is beatable. We watched them struggle against Western Kentucky. Against a better non-Power Six school, they could slip.

Raider, I understand that the committee doesn't want two teams from the same conference playing each other until at least the round of 16, but that goes for multiple bid larger conferences. We are talking about MTSU and ULL. These are two teams from smaller conferences that shouldn't have to be in the same region at all. This is not a conference that got three or more teams in, this is a two bid league. And as far as OSU is concerned, I am not trying to say that they are a power, or that I am a big fan. BUT, looking at it from a coaches perspective, to go 28-3 and only get a 4 seed after what they have done ALL YEAR LONG is a stretch. I am not saying two seed, but if you are going to give Vanderbilt a two seed after not winning their regular season title, then where is the justice for a team that did that in a big conference. Hoskins or no Hoskins, it should be based on what you have done as a whole for the season. If you are going to look at early season wins and losses as part of the equation, then you should be looking at the whole season, and not the beginning or the end.

Myles Brand just announced that BGSU is being moved from East Lansing to LA. Greg Christopher enthusiastically approved this decision, stating that the NCAA's interests are more important than any one school.
