Let the rumors begin

Post by CLindsay16 »

Hate to see the season end today like this, but we all know what this means? I would guess as soon as tomorrow the rumors will start about Curt? Where is he going and how soon?

I hope for BG he will stay, but am not going to hold my breath.

If he goes, I send him off with a high five and a huge THANK YOU for all the hard work over the last 6 years.

Michigan?
Cincinnati?
Michigan State?
Penn State?
Louisville?
Washington?

Something tells me he is going to have a lot of offers and a lot of money thrown his way.

Good question. I was thinking the same to myself.

Thought maybe it represented his next team, but don't think those colors represent the BIG openings he would be considered for.

Is Michigan State looking for a coach? I wasn't aware of that.

i hope that's just one of the rumors but it wouldn't surprise me one bit. please be wrong.

Buckeye fans only wish...they can't stand being the 2nd best team in Ohio. :-D

I guess we'll find out what happens in the next few days. I hope like heck Coach Miller isn't going anywhere but as successful as he's been, it would be awfully hard to keep him. :(

Well....they MIGHT be. Not yet, actually signed their coach to a 5-year extension right after I posted earlier. Her name has been attached to a lot of openings, so she might still be leaving. I had heard Curt would be interested if that ended up happening.

Talked to someone today who told me Michigan likes him.

I read that Cincinnati's administration was at the Vandy game. Will be interesting to see how quick he makes up his mind.

Sadly, I don't see him coaching another season for the falcons.

According to Maureen in her latest blog post:

"High-ranking Bowling Green people told me today they will do absolutely everything they can to keep him."

I hope they do. And can.

Next year is huge as far as seeing if BG hoops can continue to ride the wave the outgoing seniors built. If this group of outstanding freshmen can come in and click together with Kate and Lindsey's leadership and experience, this dynasty we've got started could run into the next decade.

Which, of course, would be kick ass.

Funny. The rumor closer to Ann Arbor is that Suzy Merchant is their choice and that there are no more interviews to be held. I'd be incredibly surprised if they look in any other direction.

The strongest rumors involving Curt are about 2 jobs that are not yet open but could be. Michigan State and Louisville. Cincinnati is going to have to make a really big sales pitch....bigger than they might be thinking...if they want him because the biggest rumor of all is that he's not interesed in a job just because it puts him into a major conference. Having to re-build a lower than average team in a powerhouse conference is a recipe for failure and Curt knows this. When you ae talking about UConn, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Pitt, Louisville, Marquette....it might take him twice as long to build up the Cincinnati program as it took for him to build BG......time a major conference school won't be inclined to give him.

Louisville is officially open. Tom Collen was announced at Arkansas on Friday. I think UL is the leading candidate to land Curt. He coached with Tom at Colorado State.

actually nobody cares. nobody talked about it on columbus radio, hell i didnt even know they lost their first round game until 2 days later when i read it on here. Bucks fans do not mention it because no one cares.

you wouldnt care about the women either but they are the only good thing you have to hang on to. next year you wont care.

good bye ladies
